Place is awesome
by Rasta1 at Citysearch
Go for the steam table- excellent chicekn, veal, pork, fish, vegetables, salad... Place is great. BUT no credit card thing is annoying and out of date. Might as well just put up a sign outside asking the IRS to give them an audit. The whole Carroll Gardens wise guy thing with not taking credit cards has vastly improved. Nino's is still a hold out though.
- Pros: Steam Table
- Cons: No credit cards, pl...ease

Awesome Food & Staff
by weeziebella at Citysearch
Not only is the food delicious the staff is nice and informative. From the wide variety of pizza by the slice to the selection of hot food, everything I've ever had here was great! I'm glad that the quality of Nino's food has remained the same but much more variety has come into play.
Fresh Food, Good Music and a great neighborhood feel

Nino's was good but Francesco's is the best... fresh ingredients, expecially the veggies , delicious. The steam tables get your taste buds rocken. Plenty of food for the $$, doggie bags are almost aways required.
Friendly atmosphere great neighborhood hang now that outdoor sitting is available. Beer and wine now on the menu with home made tiramisu.
The cooks remain the same they just added friendlier counter people.
- Pros: Try it
- Cons: sorry it you don't try it
Avoid All Together... Goto The House of Pizza and Calzone
by condor076 at Citysearch
Expensive food and a lot of hype for no reason.
Nino's food was good and expensive and Francesco's food is expensive and mediocre at best.
The house of Pizza and Calzone is a much better choice and just down the block on Union Street
This place will be a Starbucks soon if they dont change the food and lower the prices
- Pros: A close walk
- Cons: Price,Service,food quality
Pizza used to be the best, what happened?
by coqui729 at Citysearch
I was always grateful that I lived down the street from the best pizza in BK, but lately it's been lacking. Ever since Nino's became Francesco's, the pizza I've ordered on consecutive Thursday nights have been dismal. I hope they bring out the "Nino's Recipe" soon, or I'll have to search for another pizza place!
Good pizza
by ipaltrow at Citysearch
This restaurant sells pizza by the slice as well as entire pies. The pizza by the slice is fresh. The service is friendly and quick. The pizza is good and is reasonably priced. I would not recommend the other hot food. The entrees look like they have been sitting around and do not appear to be fresh. You will also pay a fortune for them. Stick to the pizza at Ninos.
- Pros: Pizza, service
Family-run pizzeria and restaurant embodies Carroll Garden's unpretentious spirit.

The Scene
Run by the Caltado family since 1968, and renovated in 2005, this restaurant and pizzeria is a neighborhood favorite. A checkerboard floor and glass, lantern-style lamps set a family-friendly tone. Half the restaurant is devoted to a takeout, with a traditional pizza counter and sidewalk window, while the other half offers waiter service. Pizza toppings stick to the basics--you won't find any pancetta here--but entrees offer a few surprises like stuffed roast pork and an extensive seafood menu.
HOJO GOES TO NINO'S
by hojos at Citysearch
This place is a neigborhood tradition. Born and raised in the area and currently living in Arizona, the first eatery I visit on my return trips is "NINO'S!"
Their pizza is "2 nd to NONE!" Also, ANYTHING on the menu is excellent. For all those coming from out of town, or, for those new to the area ... make Nino's a MUST ATTEND!
Also, K-10 "LOVES" the rice balls............
- Pros: Neighborhood Feeling, Reasonable Price, Great Taste
I wish I were a Nino's Eggplant Hero
by Gabe_Acri at Citysearch

- Pros: Food, Good-looking Staff
