Their custom made clothes might be good. But their alterations are really below average for a price they charge. If you need something simple like to hem a pair of pants, then no worry. However, when it gets a little bit more complicated like a jacket or else, you'd better think twice. I have several suits for which alterations were done in different places and Ercole is by far the worst one of these. The bottom line is that unless you are ready to take chances with what you might see when you come to pick up your stuff, try another alternative.
Pros: Close to public transportation (B1 stop is next block)
Cons: Quality below average, same for service

Although the work is mostly handmade, the prices keep increasing, and quality & service keep decreasing......if true custom is a must, try Ciccarelli, otherwise youre better off with a made to measure from any reputable tailor.
Pros: can decide your own style
Cons: lack of style, price, location

All the other reviews are right, they really are the best tailor I've been to in NY. They actually know how to do an original hem on designer jeans. With the prices of jeans now somewhere over $200, it's a risk dropping them off to be hemmed, you hold your breath and hope they don't come back completely ruined. At this place you can rest easy. I'm still amazed, I didn't even know a hem on jeans could be as perfect as they did them. I'm not only going back with any new ones I get, I'm taking all my old ones to him to fix the bad jobs of all the other tailors who didn't know what they were doing. Actually, I will bring any tailoring job I ever need. And you can tell from all the other items they're working on, that they are real quality tailors. They make suits and shirts, which I think is more of their speciality. I hope I'm not insulting these high-end tailors with my jeans jobs!! But I can't say enough things about how nice and friendly they were and the great work they did!
Pros: Excellent, high-quality work
Cons: none

Finally I found someone who actually knows how a suit is constructed. They made it to my specification, and got it back to me pretty quick, they actually came to my office in Manhattan to fit me for my suit.
Pros: Excellent Tailoring, precisely cut, great service

For anyone who appreciates fine men's clothing, and thought custom made garments were out of reach, think no more. Ercole's is never diasspointing and always surprising, not only is the quality (being custom made) unmatched by any suitmaker or company, but the craftsmenship of these gentlemen is elevated to an artform, for the price of your run of the mill high end deprtment store suit in some cases. I cant say enough wonderful things about the magic this father and son team, and their staff perform with their cloths and know-how.

Ercoles truly epitomizes the craftsmanship and tradition of the custom garment. They are to couture suitings what the red sauce restaurant is to Italian dining. No frills, just fantastic product always satisfyinginside this quaint and inviting Brooklyn storefront lays the finest fabrics in the industry, and the unwavering expertise to craft them Ermenegildo Zegna, Loro Piana, Scabal, Thomas Mason, etc Ercoles does all work ON SITE and they literally can do anything. Unlike the intimidating and skyrocketing Manhattan couture scene, here, the service is nothing short of accommodating, never overwhelming or pressured. The final product- OUTSTANDING. For anyone who thought custom garments were out of reach, think again... better yet, just ask anyone at Ercoles.

Couture thrives in this charming Brooklyn store front far removed from the overpriced racks of major department stores. This modest family owned and operated business does CUSTOM made clothing for the cost of high end off the rack dept store garments and 1/2 to 1/3 less than Manhattan Custom tailoring. Nothing is sent out for piece work to such low cost centers as New Jersey, common practice for the larger stores such as Brooks Brothers and Ralph Lauren, EVERYTHING is done on site. Wall to wall fabrics from Zegna, Loro Piana, Scabal etc. THE BEST.
Pros: everything
