Horrible service!

by Sugasweet

I went to this place just to grab some coffee and a small bite to eat. The waitress was very slow and they weren't even busy. They did not have coffee, so I ordered tea and I didn't receive it until a half an hour later. We waited over an hour for our food, which never even came out, so we left and went somewhere else. The staff paid no attention to us and couldn't even tell us why others who sat after us was receiving their food and we still haven't gotten ours. I wish I could at least say the food was good, but I never got to try it. I will never step foot in that place again!

  • Pros: I wouldn't even know
  • Cons: Terrible service and lack of professionalism

Has never failed us!

by technasha

My husband and I have been to this spot many times, day or night the food is great.

We've brought many friends and they all agree the food is fantastic (and fresh)!

The place is small and there is only one waitress so the service is slow, But what newyork

resturant at 11pm on a Saturday isn't?

The food is worth the wait. And what alot of people don't know is

that you can get there $5 anti-bush dishes after 6pm for 1.95 more.

7.95 for the best salmon burger ( or any other 6 dishes to choose from)

and a side (try the SPICEY FRIES) is a deal.

Bring friends and chat while you wait , it will be worth every minute.

  • Pros: Great food and cheap prices
  • Cons: small space and slow service

Good Food, Great Prices

by raineyishere

Brooklyn Moon is a hole in the wall with very little ambiance but the food is great and cheap. They have a 5 dollar anti-bush special and if you get there before 5pm you can have a great meal for 5 bucks. The space is old, and they are always remodeling it but each time its redone they use the cheapest materials. Looks like they take discarded 99 material from the 99 cent store and get their grandmother to make the curtains. Its in a perfect location, they have some great dj's on the weekends late night and the vibe is cool. I suggest you check the place out.

  • Pros: Good Food for Cheap
  • Cons: Place Needs major makeover

Love the Vibe

by thediva22

I've been coming to Brooklyn Moon for nearly ten years and love that the food is consistently great -- tastes like it came from my auntie's kitchen! Service has improved greatly over the past two years (thank goodness). I love this "feel good" Brooklyn spot for the food, music, funky decor and welcoming staff.

  • Pros: Good Food, Great Value

Best Local Brooklyn Restaurant for Some Good Times.

by klangpup

This has been my most favorite restaurant of all times. I love their GRILL VEGETABLES WRAP!! Their spicy fries are awesome with the spices that really put a good touch! Oh...don't forget to try their collard greens, curry potatoes, and last but not least one of the best items on the menu...APPLIE SALAD! You will not regret if you go for at least once. You will feel like you want to go back the next day. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cool. Not to mention about their drinks are also awesome. The waiters/waitresses are friendly. It can get crowded on a weekend so be sure you get there a little early like at around 7p for dinner. It is a "MUST TRY" restaurant. It is even cool in the summer because they have outdoor mixed fruity drinks.

  • Pros: Try everything. You will not regret. My plates are mopped everytime.
  • Cons: Service can be a little slow when it is crowded but good food requires more time!! :)

Decent Eats, But Horrible Service.

by koku

I've been there 3 times, for their infamous $5 menu. The Mac n' Cheese is okay, and tastes packaged, however the sandwiches and salads are quite nice. The $5 menu does have smaller portions, and I found the ravioli dish to be not too much better than a can of Chef Boyardee. The service isn't that great; I've waited 20 minutes for a glass of water. But it's a decent place to dine...just don't do it on your lunch break.

  • Pros: cheap, full bar, friendly service
  • Cons: slow waitstaff

I happened at this place by accident and fell in love with it. In addition to a great music selection and great lighting the food way stupendous. The yams were just like mom's and the chocolate martini was just perfect.

Lunch ROCKS

by Meapale

The $5 Lunch menu is an awesome deal. For $5, you have a choice of hot sanwiches or even jerk chicken for example, as well as killer sides! You also get curteous quick service, and a quiet atmosphere. You're not gonna get gourmet, but you will walk away full and ready to finish the day!

  • Pros: Location, service, food
  • Cons: size of venue, layout

I miss the old Brooklyn Moon!

by jeanne02

I used to love Brooklyn Moon. It used to be a nice place for cheap eats with friends. Now the portions are smaller and the newly added wait staff is slower than slow. I am so disappointed.
