I work there..this is why we stink

we stink, we really do. we need to hire new people. managers are rude to us. some of the people we do hire are idiots/rude. we have rodents that eat through all the candy in our store. as you might be able to tell..i hate officemax. i'm not rude..yet lol. but i can see why some of us are. officemax sent out a letter telling us we wont get an increase in our checks until they make more money.

• Cons: rodents

With a new layout and modern concept, OfficeMax has titled its updated in-store experience as "Advantage." All renovations certainly do work for the customer's advantage, as aisle-free checkouts shorten the lines to many minutes' worth of waiting, and self-serve bulk bins now group office supplies into mini categories for easy selection. However, the biggest advantage is still the OfficeMax stock. From papers and pens to desks and filing cabinets, OfficeMax supplies everything to look the executive part. Cool technology and gadgets give an excuse to play on the job.

Slow, Rude but occasionally helpful

Buyer beware at the Atlantic Center Office Max. Their service is lethargic beyond belief (especially at check-out) and their bad attitudes are worthy of note. Every so often, however, you'll meet an employee in a good enough mood to assist you (usually after you chase them down an aisle), but that's rare.

Of course there is the ever-present security guard posted at the door to make you unpack the receipt you've already stowed. He won't look at it but he'll mark it. Just to let you know he's on the job. Oh, please!
