Obscure books in every nook and cranny.

The Scene
A musty little gem housed in an old pharmacy on Williamsburg's main strip, Clovis Press is the anti-Barnes & Noble. You'll have to linger, because what you're searching for may not be easy to locate. But the fun is in finding what you weren't looking for amid the haphazard stacks of mostly used books (some of them on the floor).
The Goods
Clovis has a nice collection of zines, obscure magazines and books from radical political publishers like Autonomedia. The beat-up orange sofa isn't fancy, but it sure does look like a good spot to sit and stay a while. Clovis the dog might just curl up next to you.

Clovis is a great independent book store. Featuring a good selection of used books, and titles from independent presses. They also buy books, but call to find out exactly when/how to do this, cause mishaps sometimes occur. Their selection of alternative periodicals is also an excellent neighborhood resource.
- Pros: Good selection
- Cons: Sketchy organization
