I usually hang out at this pub thursday nights. The bartender is great, and always coming over with some crazy off the wall shot he made. The old men that are standing out side the bar are usually off duty detectives from the area. Its a great place to go and make a new friend or friends. I started off knowing one person who liked the bar, and now when i go there I'am greeted with smiles and friendly faces. Oh yea and I'am 26, not an old creepy man. The bad reviewer is most probably from a local bar or someone who go turned down by the local gals. oh yea, on thursday nights ask Pete to make you a creamsicle shot, very very yummy...
Snobby bartenders

I think what makes a place is the bartenders. If the bartenders aren't good at what they do or if they aren't friendly it just makes for bad business... which was the case here... so we decided to leave...There are million bars on 5th ave who have friendly people and good food... why go to a place that has snobby bartenders???
- Pros: awesome atmosphere
- Cons: snobby bartenders
in the mood for a laidback night?

When you want a laidback low-key night in the neighborhood, Bean Post is the place to go.
The open doors all around the bar are perfect in the summer. There are not many outdoor bars in Bay Ridge so this is the next best thing. The jukebox has a variety of music to keep everyone happy (except when some people play hours worth of disco... ugh!). The food is surprisngly good... try the sliders!
The bartenders ACTUALLY buy back so tip well.
- Pros: open doors in the summer, cheap beers & buybacks
- Cons: parking

I dont know what that other reviewer is talking about- they have the coldest beers, the best wings, and the greatest buy back system in bay ridge!!! The age ranges from 21-40- always varied. We go usally on a saturday night and just hang with friends, listen to great jukebox music and drink on $50 for the entire night! They now have Karoke- which is so cool where u get a chance to win money in a competition. Their menu is varied form great burgers to chicken wraps to an amazing sampler that has everythign in it for a great price. If your looking for somewhere to go with ur friends to just chill in jeans- then this is the palce for you!
PROS: great menu, cold beer, awesome selection
CONS: can geet very crowded, parking
Not a great place to visit by Karen M. at InsiderPages

This bar is basically for old cheap men. It's not meant as a place for 30-ish people, unless they are trashy. A lot of old guys hang outside the place and many people don't even like to walk past it because it is not a pleasant area. I wouldn't recommend this dirty place.
PROS: none
CONS: dirty

A friendly crowd, mostly Yankee fan types. The food is good and cheap, beer is fresh-no vinegar flavor. Watch for the dinner specials [2 for 1]. Mid thirty's and up.
The Best Place In Bay Ridge

I love this place!!! Single lady's If you want to go somewhere where there are tons of good looking guys then this is the place! I have been a customer there for over three years and between me and my girlfriends, we never have a problem meeting guys! Even our male friends enjoy this spot, how could they not- they have tons of big screen t.v's that are alwalys playing sports and it's the least pertentious place in Bay Ridge!
Big plus- if you make friends with the bartenders, i.e throw them a little extra cash, they hook you up very nicely!!!!
- Pros: inexpensive, always fun, lots of men
- Cons: parking

One of the best kept secrets in Bay Ridge..
Jukebox is good, bartenders excellent, usually no trouble getting some space at the bar..
