TERRIBLE EXPERIENCEW

by Josie891234

I would never recommend The Pearl Room to anyone because:

1. I made a reservation and when I got there they didn't have it.

2. I Valet parked my car and received a $115 ticket which I wasn't NEVER informed of until one month latter in the mail with a LATE FEE now the ticket is $125. Then I call The Pearl Room and at first they told me they would take care of it as long as I had proof that I was at the restaurant that night. However, once I told them I was able to provide proof that I was at the restaurant they refused and told me I would have to speak to the manger or owner (who every time I called were not there and never called me back). (Talk about being un professional) .

  • Pros: NOTHING
  • Cons: EVERYTHING

If you like bland The Pearl Room is for you

by SIram

We've had terrific meals here in the past so we had high expectations for a party we went to. The restaurant is nice and the staff excellent but everything from the Costco like rolls to the chicken skewers and mozzarella and calamari appetizers was bland. In fact the pepperoncini calamari I've had in the past was far superior to the bland marinara sauce they gave us. Entrees were equally disappointing, my sea bass was over cooked and the sauce devoid of taste, even the mashed potatoes were tasteless. Plating was bizarre, the tilapia was the color of cardboard and with the balsamic vinegar and red bean paste sauce it looked like ribbons on a package. No one finished their meal and the best thing was the occasion cake we brought in with us.

What happened to this place, did they change owners?

  • Pros: Good Service
  • Cons: Bland overcooked food

Great place for a Bridal Shower--bring an umbrella

by viper581

The roof was leaking from an existing leak and in the morning of the Bridal Shower it was raining. When the guests from the Shower arrived the restaurant sent one of the workers to fix the roof. Instead of fixing the roof, his foot fell through the roof.

It continued to rain in on the Shower for the entire time. Also, we were told Valet would be available, it was not available till after the Shower ended.

Make sure you bring an umbrella to this Shower, you will surely need it.

  • Pros: Decent food & entertainment (unscheduled)
  • Cons: Unprepared - disastrous

Best Christmas Day Dinner

by killa2979

Since I don't celebrate Christmas on Dec 25, I needed to go to a place that was open for Christmas. I chose the Pearl Room and I am very happy I did. It was a great experience. I been there a couple of times before but not on a holiday. The food had great presentation and the service was outstanding. The owner/Chef came up to my table and made me feel very welcomed (especially since I was dining alone) and was very sweet. I ordered the special menu for $55 and had the potato crusted salmon. I never had salmon prepared that way but I will definitely have it again. The dessert was different for me too. I had banana strudel for the first time with frangelico. Perfect combination to satisfy your sweet tooth. The owner gave me complimentary chocolate truffles. The pearl room really made my evening with the constant attention. I loved it! I will be back!

Don't get me wrong...we did have a great dinner. The restaurant is very intimate and quaint. But, for the cost, I wasn't blown away by the dishes. Everyone that works at Pearl Room is extremely knowledgeable, cordial, helpful, and formal.

The Pearl Of Bay Ridge...

by collmart

The best food and overall dining experience in Bay Ridge.

I have never had a bad meal or a bad time at The Pearl Room.

From the moment you walk into the Pearl Room you enter a relaxed, elegant environment where you are treated like a VIP.

The wait staff is courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the food. They describe each special with true enthusiasm and answer all of your questions intelligently and with clear personal experience and familiarity.

I had such good dining experiences at The Pearl Room, that I decided to have my wedding dinner there. The managers and wait staff were incredible to work with. They offered more than any other restaurant in Brooklyn or Manhattan BY FAR - and they delivered.

Each of my 60 guests raved about the delectable food and the warm, friendly, impeccable service. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the most intimate romantic dinner to the biggest private party - they can handle it all - because they truly care about their customers and the product they provide.

Bay Ridge is lucky to have this little gem in the heart of our neighborhood.

  • Pros: Excellent, fresh food, Impeccable service, great ambience

We had a lame experience. The server was rather rude and inattentive in a half empty restaurant. We don't ask for much when we dine out just remember to take our order and check back when we get our food. Hopefully that server has moved on. More importantly, the grilled black angus shell steak was a little underwhelming. I don't know, maybe this joint was a little built up for me and my friend. Overall, a pretty standard seafood restaurant. I don't think it's worth the price.

BEST IN BAYRIDGE

by Rockstar812

The Pearl Room is the closest thing I have had the pleasure of experiencing to genuine home cooking. Being away from my family for so long, it's great to be able to walk in such a welcoming and beautiful establishment and be able to truely enjoy everything on the menu. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every meal that I have ordered. The Pearl room is a great place to impress a date or to enjoy brunch, a beer and sunday football. The hosts Nancy and Anthony make sure you feel like apart of the family and the bartenders and wait staff make sure you feel appreciated. I never have to think about were I'm going for dinner or a couple of drinks and company. My first choice is always The Pearl Room!!!!!

  • Pros: Food, Service, Valet parking, ambience!
  • Cons: I honestly can't think of one

The Pearl Room Is My Oyster!

by Freebird109

I don't get out much and when I do I am selective as I have high criteria in what I look for: great food, classy atmosphere and a friendly crowd.

I am pleased to say that the Pearl Room offers these in abundance.

I always have a good time here. From the hosts, Nancy and Anthony to the bartenders particularly Victor & Tracy and the regulars you are sure to feel welcome and appreciated. I also find it a great place to network among prefessional and business owners.

There are great Tuesday night parties but as I live in the area I notice in passing that it is always busy here.

Great Spot!
