The Living Room

154 Ludlow St
New York, NY 10002

Great Live Music Venue
5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

In the movie Into The Wild, Emile Hirsch's character Christopher McCandless says "she was here on earth to grasp the meaning of its wild enchantment, and to call each thing by its right name," and the Living Room is clearly the right name for this intimate and cozy venue. If you want to hear new up and coming singer-songwriters than the Living Room is the place to be. There is a one drink minimum, but drinks are affordable, and there is usually not a cover charge, and if there is one it's about $10, so for a night out on the Lower East Side this is extremely reasonable. The place is in great shape, and has some nice comfortable couches by the bar for people to sit at. If anyone ever asked me what I thought of the Living Room, I would speak highly of it.

Insider Tips

It's Cheap, Not Free

The suggested $5 donation to the artists isn't strictly enforced, but when the tip jar comes around, failing to add your share is the only faux pas you can make in this manners-relaxed part of town.
