AWSOME NEW PLACE!!!!
by N420 at Citysearch
I had so much fun! We walk up to this mysterious white building- I didn't know if it was a bar/restaurant or an art gallery- and went to dinner here for a friend of mine's bday . We had some great TexMex- I had the Shrimp Tacos and the Chicken Fried Steak which were both great- and then we moved to the bar- around 11 things started to get crazy moving from slower rock to loud dance music. People were dancing on the bar and one of them the bartender said was the owner! We stayed till late and had a great time. A very unassuming place that has all I want from the East Village. Im totally going back!
- Pros: Great infused Tequila and Mac N Cheese
- Cons: non

Former tiki lounge is transformed into Texas eatery, and no one bats an eye.
by Josh Ozersky at Citysearch
Lucky Cheng's, everyone's favorite transvestite dive bar, had been operating a tiki lounge called Waikiki Wally's in this space for years; but the concept has been replaced with Marfa, named for the West Texas artist's colony. There's nothing artistic about either the food or the space, though: This is standard Texas road grub, featuring standard catfish, macaroni and cheese, chili, and the like. There's also, as you might expect, a line of merrily named cocktails. The room, though, is a little more upscale: dark wood tables and bar, with weather white brick walls all around. How is this better than a tiki bar?
