Am I missing something here?.
I've been here multiple times in the past two years and every time I go (with high hopes) I leave disappointed.
Don't get me wrong the spa is beautiful, but I wish my services matched the aesthetics.
If you like strong firm massages, this is not the place for you. I even used the words "I have a high tolerance for pain, PLEASE go deep.” Instead the massage had the intensity level of my 12 yr old brother rubbing my back.
Also, to add to my disappointment, I was running late last night for my spa visit (due to work/traffic delays). I ended up being a half hour late for my hr prepaid massage. I asked if I could be compensated in some other way, since I know the company who purchased my massage for me gives them TONS of business. Instead of an empathetic reply or a “we will figure something out”, I got a cold shoulder. The woman who was helping me legitimately just ignored my question. I asked again. Which she replied it’s already prepaid we have a 24 hr cancellation policy. I wasn’t cancelling my service, I was just saying that this company who gives you tons of business isn’t getting what they paid for, and I think it’s fair that you should somehow offer me something for paid half hour I missed or at least show some empathy. I couldn’t help but feel ripped off and it wasn’t even my money! I definitely will make it a point to suggest other spas in the future to these companies who bring us here. I’d deal with the customer service, if the actual service was at least good, but not having either…is kind of a deal breaker for me.…
Great Space and great massage. Staff are very friendly and helpful. No need to hurry once your massage has finished. I went to the relaxation area where I had my tea and listened to relaxing music for an hour and was not rushed out.…
Awesome Massage!. The overall experience is great. Wait until you get to enjoy the relaxation room after your massage. Its pure bliss.......
Great new spa after rennovation. I visited the spa back in 2007 and it looked dated even though the services was great. Now it looks totally new and modern. I love everthing from the reception area to the bathroom/locker rooms. Even the staff members look refreshed with the new uniforms. The prices have gone up but I think it's well worth it. My only gripe is the VERY uncomfortable sales pitch after my massage. Why would I buy body scrub and lotion ? That's the reason why I only gave it a 4 star instead of 5.…
Spa at the Penninsula Hotel. Massage was ok. But during and at then end the therapist kept talking and then she tried to push product on me...I didn't ask about any of them. I am a product fiend, but only if I ask - didn't need a sales pitch after an hour and a half of relaxing.…
MOST AMAZING SPA. this is one of the most amazing spas I have ever been to. Everthing is wonderful including the staff.
A first-rate spa with a view, a pool and a posh address to boot.. Twenty-one floors up from the suit-populated, crystal chandelier-topped lobby of the swanky Peninsula Hotel (home of the pricey Pen-Top martini), lies this sophisticated, labyrinthine spa adored by the fabulous set for its superior service, inviting swimming pool with 5th Avenue views, workout facilities, open-air patio, sauna, and steam and wet rooms.…
