Great ring experience

I wanted to have a hand in my engagement ring design, so I went with my fiancee to For Richer or Poorer in Brooklyn after reading the rave reviews. It did not disappoint, unlike most jewelers, you work with Tara, a young woman recently wed herself, who knows first hand what a woman wants in a ring. She made us both feel very comfortable and was straight up about pricing and what you get for your money. Her settings were gorgeous and she found some great diamonds for us to choose from. I didn't see the finished product until I was proposed to, and it turned out way better than I could have imagined. We will be going back for our wedding bands for sure.

• Pros: warm environment, good service, straight up about prices
• Cons: None that I can think of

The Personal Service Makes the Difference

As a guy who knows nothing about jewelry and was nervous about the engagement ring shopping process, I was lucky enough to find out about Tara from a friend's recommendation. From our very first meeting, she made me feel at ease. She taught me all the basics about diamonds and explained all of my options. I explained to her what I was looking for and she worked with me to create the perfect piece. My fiance loved it and now I look like a genius. Overall, I couldn't imagine more personal service or a better value anywhere else!

Great talent, excellent service

Our experience with Tara could not have been better. We took our original wedding ring design to several other jewelers who would not even attempt such an intricate design. Tara did not even hesitate in taking on the challenge. The intertwined Celtic knot and leaf elements of the rings had to be painstakingly executed by hand, and the rings came out perfectly! We recommend her at every opportunity.

One of a Kind

We started off with a picture and between my ideas and her creativity and talent Tara Rose created the most beautiful wedding bands. I get compimented everywhere i go. Her unique approach to custom designing jewlery is remarkable. I don't think theres anything she can't do.

Amazing Service

This is a class act. The staff was very patient and had a bunch of ideas when I described over the phone what I was looking for. Turns out their first suggestion was the one!!!! Lots of choices and attention to detail was a priority. I will be recommending them to anyone looking for custom jewelry. Tara was thorough and communicated well from start to finish, and has even followed up to see how the proposal turned out.

Exactly what I wanted!

I had a custom charm made for my boyfriend's birthday & entrusted Tara with that mission. After meeting with Tara, seeing the caliber & breadth of what she can do I knew I was in the right hands. It seemed alot of her clients were getting expensive & intricate pieces made from her, but she treated me & my little initial charm project with the same care & attention. That was great & refreshing. I will DEF go back to her & have recommended For RIcher or Poorer to some of my friends already. She really cares about her clients.

For Richer or Poorer is unique -- I got extensive personal attention from the staff, and Tara Rose had brilliant design recommendations. No one rushed me! I ended up with a spectacular certified diamond that cost far less than I had imagined was possible. Call them and shop at your leisure -- or ask them to rush to meet a deadline, as my best friend did. Same thoughtful and thorough service either way! And everyone is dazzled by the quality and design. I intend to purchase several custom pieces for holiday gifts.
