Creative, fresh and delicious food!
by mimigk
The dishes change with the seasons, guaranteeing fresh ingredients, and are simultaenously healthy and provocative. One recent evening, friends and I shared one another's entrees and loved them all! The buttermilk friend chicken, duo of lamb with scallion crepes, white grape gaspacho, and strawberry-blueberry shortcake were sensational. The wine list is reasonable yet distinctive, and the ambience is perfecto. Can't recommend it highly enough.
- Pros: Best Choice of Dishes
- Cons: No separate party room
My favorite neighborhood spot
by Ellamaez
I love this sophisticated, understated room with plenty of space to hang with my friends. The wine program is great. I go often on Fridays for the Friday Night Flights to enjoy different types of wine. The food is spectacular with lots of fish choices whether I want to eat light or have a full meal. Now they have my favorite dessert, peach shortcake. Don't forget the Sunday barbeque. What could be better!
- Pros: Excellent wine program
- Cons: Too many choices
wonderful new addition to the neighborhood

We've had several wonderful meals at Bussacco. The room is lovely, the people are friendly, and most important the food and wine are spectacular. I love the bar menu, which is affordable and delicious. The clam pizza is amazing! I highly recommend Bussacco, and will be going back.
- Pros: great food, great atmosphere
- Cons: not the best location
Park Slope's new gem
by petitepois
Great restaurant! I am a Park Slope native, born and bred. I have seen sooooo many restaurants come and go. I am so happy such a caliber restaurant has opened. I am a huge fan of the places the chef & owner have worked at and am glad to see the influence on the food and service from these places, while maintaining their own identity. We had the shortrib, tortelloni, duck, bavette & some fish with manilla clams and herb broth. All were really great and the prices were so low that I hope people appreciate what they are getting for the price. Good Luck & congrats!
A gem in Brooklyn
by FoodieCal
Just spent a week at a hotel on Union Street and went to Bussaco for dinner. Well, we went back every night. My God, is it wonderfu!
We tried everything on the menu and Jared (the Sommlier) was so very helpful in pairing the wines with this excellent food.
Way to go, Brooklyn.
Have a seat and enjoy!

In two words or less, try It! You'll be happy you did!! The atmosphere was warm and pleasant and the food was amazing. I love Sushi and they offered some of the best I've tried. We also decided to take our staff there for the holidays, they deserve it. The best! So I would recommend this place to my friends and will also be returning back for more myself.
Great night

A friend recommended this place and my wife and I had an excellent meal there. First of all it just looks cool and once we settled in the servers too great care of us. The shrimp starter was excellent - I think I'd even seen it featured somewhere - and the pastrami duck was an impressive combination of flavors I'd never had before. She had the Octopus to start and the Pork entree, both of which were sharp. We'll be going back soon...
Great Restaurant in the Slope

I came in here to eat and left full and happy. It was the best food I have ever had, I was hungry, but it was still good. I will go back and I did find parking with no problem.
my favorite new restaurant!!!

I eat out A LOT. I love to dine and I'll go to any of the boroughs for a good meal. Luckily my favorite new restaurant is in Brooklyn--a hop, skip and a jump away. I've eaten at Bussaco 6 times and will keep going back for more. I've had almost everything on the menus except the fish entrees (which is probably a sin as I believe the chef is from Le Bernadin?). But anyway, for appetizers my favorites are the octopus (I've never had octopus this tender) and the quail (not at all what I was expecting as externally it looks like a croquette) and the crab chowder (the "old bay crackers" are the perfect touch). I was impressed by the plating of the dishes and some subtle touches which made me think that someone is thinking in the kitchen (grilled prawns were served with a chick pea puree, tiny wax beans and the smallest croutons I've ever seen which gave the dish a perfect crunch here and there). For entrees my favorites were the duck pastrami (a deconstructed pastrami sandwich but the pastrami is duck), beef bavette (small pieces of sweetbread were perfection), and the fried poussin (DELICIOUS fried chicken & waffle). I was a tad underwhelmed by the desserts. I wish that they could have perhaps been a bit more adventurous. Other than that the service was attentive and friendly. I was very pleased with my recommendations on wine.
Dreadful service, cold food
by freshfoodie08
I came on a Friday night. Fairly packed, had a nice vibe initially. But then I sat down to eat.
I didn't get a menu for almost 10 minutes! The bus staff was rocky and seemed to be angry to be pouring water. I ordered the grilled octopus, which I was excited about, and wild salmon, which seemed like a great find in Park Slope.
The octopus was undercooked and sandy. The salmon was ice cold. I sent it back, only to be pandered to for the rest of the night by the sleazey management staff.
Looke like this space (formerly the Black Pearl, also mediocre) is cursed to have third-rate occupants. Stay away!
- Pros: Local spot
- Cons: Staff has an attitude, seafood is all wrong
