Blue in Green / Naima is great firm to work with
by grazer004
In all the work that we have done on our home, the best contractor that we have worked with is Naima Green owner of Blue in Green. She and her team recently renovated/landscaped our backyard with phenomenal results; my wife and I endorse her without qualification. We met with three potential landscapers and she stood out from the three upon initial meeting. Whereas the other two firms thought that they would have to spend 50% to 100% more than our budget allowed, Naima was confident that we could achieve the desired results within budget.
Her initial design fee was quite reasonable and far less than the other two - less impressive - firms. I attribute that to her confidence that once she lays out the design, she will ultimately win the job (those are two separate decisions). In the initial meeting she elicited the handful of goals and attributes that we wanted for the backyard. In the proposal delivery, Naima drew up a color sketch of the design and delivered a comprehensive proposal via Powerpoint presentation.
She listened carefully to our desires and wrapped them in her own extensive experience to deliver a set of ideas that we would never have come up with. In particular, she took a few "problem" elements of our backyard and at relatively modest cost, creatively turned them into beautiful assets.
Naima communicates extremely well and is highly responsive, two traits rare in my experience. She delivers what she says she will and exceeded our already high expectations. Our backyard was transformed from a junkheap into something beautiful that is now a highlight of our house.
- Pros: Creative, Communicative and affordible
Great Lanscaping

Naima, the owner, is intelligent, thoughtful and creative. She has a great eye and allows you to be as much a part or as little part of the landscape design.
She caringly worked with her team on our two terraces and gave them a fresh new look which brings a smile to our face everyday.
She is timely, respectful of your space and is willing to work within your budget needs. She takes great pride in her work and as a result the quality of her work is outstanding. We also loved her patient and kind spirit. We would give her our highest recommendation. Mike and AJ
- Pros: Personable and Flexible
Great Manhattan Multi-Level Garden
by micwer
Naima and her team just completed my outdoor space and I am thrilled! From the design to installation, the decking to the plants and lighting to irrigation, Naima was able to guide me through the many steps to creating a truly special outdoor retreat. When we first spoke, I told Naima that I have a busy work schedule and needed one stop shopping if you will. Soup to nuts, Naima did not disappoint (down to checking furniture measurements for me). She took care of everything, and when she couldn't, Naima coordinated with the other contractors and oversaw their work for me. Moreover, Naima worked within my budget and was significantly less expensive than the other estimates I saw. Not only did I love the work that blue in green did, my building loved it as well. Naima and her team were very conscientious, and carried trees and plants and decking through the lobby without leaving behind a leaf. If you are still unsure, just call her. One meeting and you will also be singing her praise (my husband never even met Naima and agrees...).

The truly aptly named Naima Green of Blue in Green
by jteverow
Naima may come with a degree in horticulture but I feel sure that instinct like hers can't be learned. With awe I watch as flats of annuals, perennials, shrubs, bulbs arrive and are distributed throughout the garden (a small Brooklyn garden, mind you) with dispatch. The end result of color, texture, variety and sculpture looks as untamed and untrained as I requested. I have even seen her do all this at nine months pregnant still sure and becalmed. I know Naima can tailor to any preference as I have heard stories ranging from Brooklyn to the Upper East Side. Her caring for her clients extends, naturally, to the plants and their habitats. She strives to work, for example, with as many native species as possible. It is with a hint of trepidation that I let word of Naima out. She is organized, timely and deeply caring. Only the like minded may apply.
