I visited CP after reading about them in Time Out New York and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I am not normally an artistic individual, so I was nervous about showing up and trying to create something with my limited ability. Thankfully though, the studio space was private during my session and I was really able to cut loose and do some splatter painting, which I hadn't done since junior high. I had a blast and the staff was really cool. I think anyone who goes to Creative Pier once will be hooked...not only because of all the fun stuff you can do there but because their space is absolutely AMAZING. I definitely recommend it!

I don't know what makes you happy but I suspect that self-expression through art could be one them. Since I had experienced my ability to create, I realized how much joy is hidden in the act of making art of many kinds. According to many Eastern traditions the process is what makes a soul happy, not the end result. Imagine an ample space abundant with art supplies, ''available on demand'', in addition to may uniquely designed workshops - this is how I experienced the welcoming Creative Pier. So, if you think you are up for a self-discovery and ready to play then the Creative Pier is the place to be. The idea behind this place really suits my pursuits in soul-searching and being a creative human being!

Having attended both workshops and events at Creative Pier I always feel a warm welcome when I arrive. Both the staff and the space are warm and inviting and I have no issue driving in from Connecticut to visit. The events are well organized with a wide range of activities to keep you busy and get the "creative juices" flowing as the workshops may help you discover the inner artist you may not know is there. Don't be shy about sharing either, there are no judgements or critiques on your artwork just supportive and encouraging remarks.

This pace is amazing - spacious, welcoming and beautiful. I felt very at home when I came in, and had a wonderful time in the open arts studio. There was a menu of art projects for me to choose from, so I didn't even have to think about what I wanted to do - the ideas were right there and I found something that was just perfect for the moment. The great twist about this place is that you can make art without having to sign up for a # of weeks as you would with a class, and you can learn different techniques every time you walk in. You can do whatever suits you in the moment, and there is a teacher there to help you at all times. When I was on my way home - I left feeling so much better than when I just walked in, and I'm planning on going back as often as I my schedule allows - it's worth it!
