The Best Decision

by SilasMommy

I can't say enough about the Ladies Fitness Kickboxing class. This is the first program I have stuck with and feel really good about going. It is a hard class but the confidence and power I get from this class is addictive. I can't see my life without this program so I am fitting it in the best way I can. This has been the best decision I have made for my own self care. As a mom and wife, you always come last. But I make sure that I schedule this class in as I like to say "happy wife, happy life". So my husband is glad I'm taking kickboxing too. Ms. Ada rocks the House!

  • Pros: Challenging Fun Professional
  • Cons: it should be everyday

Amerikick is Great!

Amerikick Brooklyn is a wonderful school. I've worked with Alex and Ada for kickboxing and with Alex for personal training and I highly recommend them both. Very friendly and good with newcomers to exercising such as myself.

Wow for Service and Instruction!

by Jean34

I don?t know what the 1 Star reviewer is talking about! I have never seen a program with so many children handled so professionally. The instructors are great motivators even for 3 and 4 year olds. I have a daughter in the program that cannot wait to go to her Amerikick next class. Great program. I think if there were only one or two children in class, it would say how bad the program is, but they have so many children that keep coming back due to excellent karate instructions! Deffinetly would recommend to every parent out there!

  • Pros: Clean and very profesional..
  • Cons: No comments

Very Dissatisfied Parent

by heresmyopinion

This is the first time I have ever written a review on anything, however I felt moved to do so after my experience at the Amerikick Karate Studio in Brooklyn, I enrolled my 3 year old at Amerikick in Brooklyn after attending a Birthday Party there. In hind sight 3 is too young but I was assured by the instructors and manager there that it was not. The instructors there seemed ill-prepared to deal with pre-schoolers, the experience maybe good for older children but it was not a positive experience for me or my child, one reason is that the class sizes on the weekends tended to get too large, I observed over 12 students ages 3-5 years old in one session, there were assistants to the Sr. instructor but they were no more than children themselves (who were not trained to interact with toddlers). The difference in the cognitive and physical development of a 3 and 5 year old are immense, they should not be in the same class. The most disturbing incident occurred during our last class there, when the Sr. "Sensi" told his charge of 3, 4 and 5 year olds that the reason they could not perform a split was because they were all WEAK. What about learning to listen to your body, doing the best you can and above all having fun. It should be mandatory that instructors have some early childhood education training before they are are allowed anywhere near very young children.

  • Pros: The facility and equipment are new, clean and well maintained
  • Cons: The instructors lack the training to interact with toddlers

knowlegable, friendly, and highly skilled instructors

by fattyt

Amerikick offers the best - excellent instructors, a nice facility, and motivated students willing to learn not only from instructors, but also from each other. At Amerikick, in addition to learning basic to advanced karate, you can also take MMA classes to learn submissions, take downs, and other jujitsu/grappling techniques as well as boxing skills. In a nutshell you learn great self defense and get an excellent workout while having a great time.
