I am on the fence for giving between 4-5 stars. This place is fantastic. The service was great. Fun oyster selection but not overwhelming, great cesar, awesome shellfish platter special. Our white wine was a bit on the too warm side. Fix that and it's perfection. Why doesn't this stellar seafood restaurant get more press in this town?

food was really good. oysters and escargo are great! the restaurant is really blue. i mean really blue.

Pros: food, make sure you specify that you want your tuna rare

Hell's Kitchen is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the entire city. Filled with a variety of different foods and cultures cheap to expensive I think Blue Point fits the scene perfectly and adds lots to the HK experience. I find it unfortunate that business isn't as well as it should be. Service every time I eat/drink is five star with excellent atmosphere and delicious food. Prices could be lower - but this is NY and the restaurant is young and still working on it's reputation. I eat out all the time but I can never find a better crab cake than I get at Blue Point. The staff is very social and down to earth. Bring friends, sit at the bar or grab a table, and take my word for it.

Pros: amazingly nice people work here. delicious food and great ambiance. Nothing to complain about whatsoever.

Went to Blue Point with a small group of 8 for a holiday get together. We had a wonderful evening, made even nicer by the waitress who was so helpful and kind. They never bothered us as we exchanged gifts and took our time. Would definitely return for their wonderful food and service.

If you want to eat fresh seafood and feel like under the water you have to try this restaurant! We tried it and loved it! We started with a shellfish platter -raw oysters, clams, shrimp and lobster! After we had a crab cake(the server said that is fabulous) and tuna tartar! The crab cake was full of crab meat and with a mango relish was amazing!(she was right)! We had a wonderful time here- good food, good service and nice atmospere! We will come back!!!

The mussels in wine sauce was delicious and the lobster caesar salad was out of this world!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

I came here this friday before the holiday weekend after passing by it on the way to work. I sat a the bar and had an excellent mojito as well as a half dozen clams and a shirmp cocktail. Everything was great, next time i would like to sit outside and experience the great people watching here. I would definitly recommenc this place if you like seafood.

I spent a wonderful dinner with my friends; great food, great ambience, hot spot, this is my first time message but I had to vote due to the wonderful dining experi ence. I loved the calamari and the alaskan king crab. The servers are extremely friendly ----My friend celebrating her birthday had their signature martini ---loved it!!!!! Will go back..........!!!!!

I have never really written a review for City Search, although I use it all the time, but I just had to sing the praises of this place. It is the best seafood restaurant in midtown, by far. It is delicious- I have eaten at the "best" Seafood restaurants many times, and the Blue Point is right up there if not ahead of them all. The menu are fantastic, the desserts are just how they should be- you can tell that they really care about not just the quantity of food for the price but the quality as well. Service was phenominal as well. It's a must go!

i used to work at the blue point restaurant and all i can tell that there is no problem with the staff.. we dont have any attitude, and probably all of us are helpful and costumer oriented. yes, we are pushy bc the manager pushed us to be pushy. she has a horrible personality, she pushed us to make the drinks the way she think it needs to be made (save on alcohol, put more soda!) the food is excellent, pricey though. the kitchen is clean. the owner is a very nice guy, whenever he managed the restaurant we had no problem. the prices on the menus are not matched to the ones in the computer system. thats why we have all those bill problems! so all together this place is average, the food is pricey but tasty, the chairs are not comfy, the management is horrible. i would eat here if i were a costumer myself!

Cons: overpriced, bad management
