Went to le toukouleur restaurant for my birthday and had a great time.The menu was wonderfully eclectic ,the food is excellent ,i had a seafood mix brochette.Oh boy ,the chef really knows flavors and seasonning.We felt like we were being hosted by someone in their home.

I would go back in a heatbeat.Great place,great cuisine and great staff

Great food; good service.

Finally a place in Bedsty to have a nice meal, out. My friend and I checked this place out the other night after having decided that we couldn't eat out because it was after ten and where were we going to find someplace to eat near home at that hour. Well, we walked into this place with it's utra cool decor: black leather banquette seating, large glass doors that look out onto to the neighborhood, chic black tables, and a really cool hostess, and decided to try it out. We had the surprise of our lives. My friend had the burger and I had the salmon. Both were very well prepared, well presented and delicious. My slamon had a nice creamy but light curried like sauce and my friends fries were made out of cassava instead of the usual potatoes; they were good. I highly recommend this restaurant with it's bistro style menu. I've been back a couple more times and each time I've been really surprised as to how good the food is; AND YES, THIS IS BEDSTY. Now, if you live in Bedsty or in it's surroundings, no need to go into the city or in the heights to have a good meal out. Heck, they should even come here.

one of The reasons to come to Bed-Stuy - delicious!

This place is So worth the trip! Granted, I am lucky enough to live right down the block, but even if i were a number of train stops away, Msr. Abdhul's zon-zon et moules would have me there at least once a week.. (zon zon is a shrimp and avocado delicacy - my favorite, and the mussels are fresh and delicious, and they're not stingy with the amount in yr bowl either..). I'm not embellishing when I say that everything I've tried there has been great! It's a warm and friendly atmosphere, good service, nice decor, and they presented lovely New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day menus.. They just started Sunday brunch, and I'm excited to see what spring will bring..

Good Prices, Good Service, Nice Place to go out

In Bed-Stuy their aren't many great resturants for families to go to. When i went to "le toukouleur" I was greeted by a good hostest, and the food was delicious. The music was playing softly in the background while we ate our meals. The food was sensational, and had a wonderful kick to it. I really enjoyed this resturant. Its a reconmmended place to visit espically if in the neighborhood. I'm also very pleased that they just recieved a liqour license. Since I travel a lot and do not get to see my husband it's great to go in the evening for a romantic feel.
