Fresh and Fantastic

My husband and I go for sushi at least once a week and typically favor a well known spot on court. recently a friend mentioned that Ki Sushi surpased our normal location by far. We figured it wouldnt hurt to try something new and have been die hard fans since. The sushi chefs are friendly and personable. The wait staff is attentive and answers any questions you may have. And most importantly the fish is FRESH and FANTASTIC. their combinations are well thought out and mouth watering. it is some of the best miso soup around -- and the TNT truffle appetizer is addictive. Well worth the slightly higher price of other neighborhood spots.
- Pros: Friendly and attentive wait staff
- Cons: usually need to wait for a table

Our all time favorite restaurant in the neighborhood

My wife and I absolutely love this place, we go at least once a week. The Ki roll is a must try, you will be hooked. The sashimi is great as well. The service is excellent, friendly and personable. We pretty much always are seated promptly even though the place is usually at or around capacity.
- Pros: Food, ambiance, service
- Cons: None that I can think of
Very good sushi...

This is one of my favorites...I've been several times. This is by far better than your run of the mill sushi restaurant. The choices are plentiful, creative and the fish is really fresh. Some experimentation, without going crazy. This isn't just the best sushi in Brooklyn, it's one of the best sushi restaurants in all of the city. I'm a big fan of several Japanese restaurants in the east village, and Ki not only holds its own, it's better than several. In my book, it rates better than most sushi places in Manhattan. I know some Manhattan-ites will look down their noses at a Brooklyn restaurant...all I have to say is, that's fine with me. Stay in Manhattan. We'll enjoy great sushi without you.
- Pros: Great food, fresh, lots of options.
- Cons: It's a little more expensive than most sushi places, but not by much.
Good, not great.

I've lived in this neighborhood for several years and I have not yet found perfect sushi, Ki comes the closest. Their fish is fresh and the rice is warm and well seasoned, but the cutting skills of the chefs are not that great, so you get big chunky pieces of fish. Great salads. If you have the time, take a trip to Taro or Blue Ribbon in Park Slope, but if you need to have sushi in Carroll Gardens, go for Ki!
- Pros: quality fish, good rice, great salads
- Cons: poor knife skills
Super fresh - Lovely Environment - Good Service

The Sushi here is great as the rest of the menu, and they are the only Sushi joint around that give you soup AND salad with the lunch special. Great spot, I would eat every meal here is I could!
- Pros: Super Fresh sushi - Good Service - Nice environment - smooth lighting
- Cons: The front does look like a real estate agent :)
I agree! Wonderful Dining Experience!

We have been going to Osaka, previously, for sushi (as a previous review also said) and the food there has gotten increasingly dissappointing. So we tried Ki, and are so glad we did! It's the best sushi in the area, by far. The ambiance is relaxing, warm, and inviting, the staff is attentive and friendly. I can never just order off the menu, and have to make all kinds of changes to the sushi rolls, and they got everything right. The miso soup is great, as is the edamame. The sushi was delicious, very flavorful, and fresh. We got a beer, soda, 6 rolls, soup, and edamame for about $45-$50! Can't wait to go back!
- Pros: DELICIOUS sushi; attentive, friendly staff; warm, romantic, inviting ambiance
- Cons: Might not be good for large groups
Best. Sushi. Ever.

The staff at Ki sushi know my name when I walk in the door because I come here so often. The ambience is romantic, comfortable and upscale yet the menu is affordable and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend the spicy tuna roll. I get it ever time I order from ki (which is about 3 times a week). The fish is fresh, the portions are decently sized and in my opinion, just as tasty as some of the fancy sushi places in the city. Every friend that I bring here finds themself back within a week. Ki sushi is a great addition to Smith St.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: None
