Great cat sitters, too!. We have a diabetic cat who receives a daily insulin shot, and it has been a great relief to have found Steve. He has had no trouble administering the shot, and brushes the cats when he comes by. From the notes that he leaves us, I can tell he spent enough time to know all 3 cats and their distinct personalities!

petriffic!. If you are looking for a dissenting opinion, this is not it. Petato's services really are THAT good, the walkers are THAT natural, and the owner, Steve, is THAT big-hearted. I'm somebody with serious hesitation when it comes to leaving my very fragile dog in the care of another. (My first dog was run over while a friend was walking her.) So my Petato walker comes to my apartment and instead of taking my dog for a walk, they play with toys inside. It's the perfect solution. Last time, Matt, a walker, even texted me a photo of my dog to show me how happy she was. The personalities of the walkers really shine via the little notes they leave behind after every visit.…

I'm Worried that My Dog Will Leave Me for Petato!. Petato is singularly the very best pet sitting service I have ever used. Always so kind and wonderful, easy to work with, available at a short notice, open to my neurotic phone calls, and just all around perfect -- I have been nothing less than over the moon with their service. Steve (the owner) is so clearly an animal lover, you know that when you leave your pets in his care, it is more than a job for him -- he treats them like family. And Lara! She is a dream! She did overnights in my home for well over a week and was amazing and responsive and super trustworthy. In fact, on the day I was due to return home, one of my cats was suddenly ill. Lara (and Petato) handled the situation like pros. They kept me informed, stayed calm and took my kitty to the vet -- with a full report waiting for me when I returned! In the end, kitty was fine (thank goodness!), but I felt like he was in such caring and kind hands the whole time. Of course no one wants their animals to get sick while under the care of someone else, but I certainly can say with confidence that if this unfortunately does happen while Petato is around, they know how to handle the situation in a professional and caring manner. Also -- my dog Lola returns home from Steve's witha bounce in her step and a smile on her face (something that has never ever ever happened when she's been under the care of other sitters). Like I said above -- I worry that she may love Steve more than me!!! But it's ok, I know that Petato and I have shared custody! They truly are like second parents and a second family to my dog and two cats. I was lucky to find them, and you will be too!…

Affordable, Friendly, Thorough, TRUSTWORTHY. Just like the Boy Scouts. Like other reviewers, my husband and I moved to Brooklyn and had to find another sitter. We had a very disturbing experience with a walker at another service in Manhattan. (confined the dogs to the restroom for 36+ hours, did not walk for the time we were paying him and searching for horrendous sites on the internet) Naturally, we've been punchy ever since. Enter Steve and pals. Petato is genuinely run by dog-lovers--not people looking for rent money. Each walker (and we've had at least 3) have left us enthusiastic reports (The Daily Petato) about how much fun they have had and where the they went for the walk. It may seem corny, but coming home to a stack of notes about how the visits went is incredibly comforting and almost feels like the dog had a hand in writing them as well: "Well, we saw a cat and she barked at it. Then she went to the bathroom in the park and we played tag until it got dark...." I recommend the overnight stays for vacations versus a kennel. Our dogs barely notice we've left!…

Best Brooklyn Dog Walkers!. When my husband and I moved to Brooklyn our dogs had no experience with dog walkers. Petato was recommended to us by a friend and it didn't take long to see why. From almost day one we found the staff to be very responsible and trust worthy and never worried about our two Brussels Griffons. The daily notes that our walker left were very comforting as we knew that the dogs were not only taken care of, but entertained, played with and loved. These are serious dog lovers!! The new addition of small dog daycare has been such a bonus. Now we can watch our little ones playing on a webcam! Online payment and schedules are also a plus. Not to mention the staffs ability to accomodate last minute schedule changes. I can't say enough good things about them and don't know what we would do without them!!!!…

best brooklyn dogwalking!. I have had quite a few dogwalkers and petato is by far the best. I know the ins and outs of my dogs day thanks to the "daily petato" which they leave for me after every walk. The owner and walkers are very responsible and I don't have to worry about the dogwalker not showing up or being very late. They are also very accommodating to a busy, ever-changing schedule.…
