Worst place to eat
by warlock0263 at Citysearch
The restaurant for lack of a better term was dimly lit to the point you could not see the menus. The service staff is poorly trained and not professional; the restaurant for being diverse did not offer a wide variety of foods and the potions are among the smallest I've seen in along time. A kid's menu portion is larger the food is plain jane nothing stands out in terms of flavor or presentation. I would not recommend it or return to ever it was that poor. If you have an appetite go somewhere else where both the food and service are far superior, this was a great disappointment and even a larger mistake.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Everything
Excellent Italian food!
by TimGourmand at Citysearch
Excellent food! The Malbec was exquisite! I could judge the restaurant on its bread alone. The bread was a true artisinal country style Italian bread with a slightly burnt crust. The salads very nice and the main dish Cavatelli con rapini e salsiccia/Cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage was very nice. Portions are very European, and overall it's not your typical American-Italian bastardization of Italian cuisine. Highly recommend it if you're in Williamsburg.
Awesome pizza, backyard garden ... all with warm, friendly service.

Seriously the best pizzas and a great backyard garden. I recommend the calamari appetizer (not greasy, light and crisp), the antipasto (the mozzarella is just like it was made and FedEx'ed from Italy). All of the pizzas are really good, particularly the Baci & Abbracci pizza - smoked mozarella, pancetta, and onion. Again, the food is all high quality, there aren't pools of grease on pizza, it is simple and delicious.
My friend who is a vegetarian ordered the spaghetti, and loved it - she said a sign of a good restaurant is whether or not they can make this simple dish delicious.
To top it off, the staff is warm and friendly. I can't wait to come back again.
- Pros: Pizzas, specials, wine list for everyone
Sad.

No pride was taken in the preparation of our meal. It lacked the delicate simplicities of true Italian cuisine. The pasta was watery, the olive oil thin, the spices numb, and the hospitality sad. For honesty look not here.
Great Food; Great Service

This place is AMAZING! The excellent service they provide started since when I made my reservation. Got a call from the owner to make suggestion on how to manage such a large group (22 of us). He had a menu prepared for us with my daughter's name printed on it (we went for her Christening dinner), the place was all set up and the waiter was very attentive. They had us seated right away and just kept up with the attention throughout. The food was SPECTACULAR! Every course was great. The crab cake salad is to die for as was the cheesecake which has a layer of raspberries in the crust. Wow! They outdid themselves. I recommend this place to everyone.
- Pros: EXCELLENT SERVICE! SPECTACULAR FOOD! GREAT LOCATION!
I miss Baci & Abbracci!

We recently moved from Brooklyn to LA and I've been looking for great Italian places like this place - good food, good wine list, nice looking place, and really nice staff all around. I used to bring my daughter (2 y/o) at least once a week and they were so very accommodating, remembered us after our first time dining there (though that might have something to do with my husband ordering the $20 grappa at the end of our meal!), and most importantly, served us delicious food. Everyone from the pizza chef, to the waiters, to the owners made us feel welcomed and gave us great service or a friendly greeting. I wanted to write a review before we left the neighborhood, but sadly didn't take the time. We loved the lasagna (a fave with my foodie-toddler), the branzino, the pork loin (also a toddler fave) the Lattuga alla Trentina salad, the beet gnocchi, the Margarita and Capricciosa pizzas, (though the latter sometimes got a little soggy in the middle depending on how much was piled on, but that could have been unique to my having to dine with a 2-year-old and not getting to my pizza when it was fresh out of the oven). The sides of veggies are huge, fresh and yummy. The patio is great and also a great place for kids to enjoy. This is a great place! We miss it a lot. Enjoy a glass of Trebbiano d'Abbruzzo in the courtyard this summer. Tasty!
- Pros: Friendly service, great food, good prices
- Cons: it's in brooklyn and I don't live there any more!
Horrifying!

Horrifying!
My husband and I were frequent customers. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service and thought that the prices were very fair. One evening while dining in the garden out back we realized that someone from the staff was urinating on the fence that separated our table from the empty lot next to the restaurant. He was facing us and was about a foot away. What?s worse is that we were the only people dining outside so it was clear that the person knew what he was doing. We saw staff going in and out of a door that led from the garden to the empty lot. Honestly, it frightened me. I wasn?t sure what he was doing at first until of course I heard his urine hitting the fence. I thought maybe someone from the street had roamed on to the empty lot and didn?t realize that people were dining so closely. When we left I realized the empty lot was fenced off giving only the staffers access. I looked the guy right in the face as he was urinating.
Disgusting!
Inconsistent

The first two times we ate here everything was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient; the food was tasty and flavorful...
Tonight however the service was horrible. We ordered drinks that never came (the appetizers arrived before someone came over to tell us that they couldn't make our drinks). My boyfriend and I both work in the restaurant industry so we understand having an off night to a certain extent. But when our entrees didn't arrive (and the other server came over to question where our food was) we figured the waitress forgot to fire them. I think it was her first night because she clearly didn't know what she was doing. When the food finally arrived (after two separate people came over to ask us what we ordered) it was really bland. I had a gnocchi dish that I had eaten before and it didn't taste the same. My boyfriend's ravioli while a lot better than my entree was still pretty mediocre.
I'd like to think it was just an off night so there is a very slight chance I may return. Of course with so many amazing restaurants in the neighborhood, I may not.
- Pros: Great garden, good antipastis
- Cons: inconsistent service & food.
Good Appetizers

Perfectly fried and lightly battered calamari, the asparagus wrapped in pruscuitto was also very good, however, I felt the main entree "lamb ragu" was mediocre.. I must agree, the food at Acqua Santos is pretty good..
bad food, bad service
by laceyjane at Citysearch
I don't know why everyone else seemed to like this place - the food is absolutely horrible. No flavor, over- or under-cooked, and teeny portions compared to most comparable restaurants. The only plus of this place is the garden out back. The service is horrendous - I had a drink spilled on me twice on 2 separate occasions. Apparently they are famous for their ragus, but I don't know why. It's like italian food that's never even heard of spices.
If you want good italian food in williamsburg, go to a restaurant that's been here for longer, like Acqua Santa. Avoid Baci & Abracci at all costs - it's not worth your money.
- Pros: garden in back, good wine list
- Cons: food, service
