level of customer service is dependent on one's get-up

as a brooklyn resident, i gave this store the benefit of the doubt in spite of having read negative reviews about it from reliable sources. i've been there twice and was ignored both times. could it be my old navy hoodie?? puhleeeease...
as much as i love to support local business, i cannot stand snotty, pretentious attitude.
Ridiculous

No, its not your imagination- I recently experiences the wrath of Diane T, and I will never shop there again. I refuse to buy anything from anyone who doesnt appreciate the business. Our neighborhood in Cobble Hill is small, so its confusing why the owner thinks that people will continue to go back to her shop, when there are plenty of great shops in our neighborhood that certainly better. My suggestion? go to Dear Fieldbinder on Smith, and you will find what you need.
- Pros: Two thumbs down. If I had another thumb, it would be three.
- Cons: Owner/sales staff needs a reality check.
Ugh.

I'm in agreement with the others, here--the collection is consistently appealing and well-presented, but I'll avoid shopping there anymore. I don't have strong feelings about the sales staff, but the owner herself is *awful*--I've somehow managed to fly under her nasty radar and browse in peace, but I've watched her being unspeakably rude to two different customers, who were themselves behaving perfectly properly. Maybe she could get away with this kind of thing when she first opened and neighborhood competition wasn't as stiff, but now that people can stroll just a few blocks in any direction to other, more pleasant boutiques, she'd best shape up.
Attention badly needed?
by darr9andy
Every salesgirl in the store was on the phone and giving you attitude and ignoring you at the same time? Tough to believe, sounds made up or just a personal issue, I bought nothing when I went in and was still helped out of the store with my groceries even though I just browsed. I agree with the other comment, some people must just need extra attention. I love not being hounded about "what I'm looking for" and "if I need help" every 2 min. This is one place you can browse without feeling followed.
- Pros: No pressure to shop
- Cons: High prices
Come on now

Ohhh please. I just came on here to search for some new brooklyn stores to sell my line to, and I am in shock that anyone has anything negative to say about it. Girls don't do yourself dirty by being caddy. The clothes are HOT, and the service is real. They will not try to play you and say things look good when they don't. Obviously some of you need some extra attention, but don't hate. This store offers one of the best selection's of better womens clothing out there... not just in brooklyn, i mean in NYC!

A Cobble Hill boutique with the high-end labels and personalized service to rival any store in Manhattan.
Poor Customer Service
by sophie22
The clothes are nice however you can find these designers in Saks or other boutiques without the attitude from the Sales help. It is a shame that her Sales has so much attitide and rather talk on the phone instead of doing their job. When I spend $300.00 on a pair of pants I expect the Sales person to be helpful or nice. Sorry it just isn't worth it to shop there
- Pros: Nice selection of designers
- Cons: Horrible Sales help with plenty of attitude
Personalized shopping

These women are honest! They will tell you if something does not look good on you. I appreciate the honesty. All of the girls there have good taste, and they want you to look your best. I have had many bad experiences where sales people have lied and said something looked good on me just to make a sale, and at this store I feel confident that what I am buying is great. It is worth the high end prices, I feel good in everything I buy there.
- Pros: great merchandise, and good help
- Cons: Pricey
For the record
by deniseazara
After reading the reviews on here I was actually hesitant to go into this shop, but a friend and I were in Cobble Hill this past week and we stopped in. The merchandise was out of my price range, but for the record the staff was very nice to me even after I told them I wouldnt be buying anything that day.( A lot of the dresses were on the short side which isnt really my thing.)
I think people should keep in mind when wrting these reviews that sales people have bad days too, I am in the service industry and we cant be mind readers, so if you need help.. ask.
My experience was overall a pleasant one.
- Pros: Product, and Service
- Cons: Expensive
Keep on walking...
by ipaltrow
This store has pretty good merchandise. They carry great brands and the owner obviously knows her stuff and has a great sense of style herself. The real issue with this otherwise lovely establishment is the staff. They are rude, rude, rude. There are several women's clothing stores in the neighborhood and in the slope where women go out of their way to help the customers. I think these sales women are in a competition with each other to see who can repel the most customers. I actually went in there, and the sales woman played with her dog (cute little apricot poodle-ish thing) the whole time and didn't even acknowledge me. It is to the point that if I walk by and don't see the owner in the store, I keep on walking. There is a great store in the Heights where I have recently bought 2 pairs of sigerson morrison shoes, a hobo wallet, 2 pairs of jeans and 4 dresses. They smile and say hello when I walk in. Enough said.
- Pros: merchandise, location
- Cons: staff, staff, and the staff
