tasty food
by miriam12
We ate there last night. The food tasted good, the decor is funky morrocan and the service was fine. They offered half price wine because it was a weekday. Overall it is well priced.
It is nothing fancy or expensive. The wine came and the waitress screwed off the top. I found this surprising . I expected at least a plastic cork.
We would go back.
- Pros: lots of non-meat options
- Cons: none really
Best Brunch on 5th Ave
by seesill
Miriam is the best place to go in the neighborhood for low-key yet interesting brunch and dinner. The wine list isn't so bad either, and the staff is great too.
- Pros: Good cheap wine
- Cons: Specials don't change often enough
bomb...
by SalahK
Mabye a week ago or so I stopped in at Miriam for some dinner and it was good. I had their specia, which was ground beef stuffed onions with a plum sauce and white rice w/ veggies. It was spectacular, the sauce was mild but added just the right complement. I had a botttle of Bordeaux "Cheatue Fage" which was reccomended and fit perfect. For an appetizer I enjoyed an Artchoke Salad that seemed to be short a few articokes but whatever it was still bomb. But dessert it where it was really at. I usually am dissapointed with dessert menus, but they had a apple and pistachio stuffed filo with vanilla ice scream, need I say more?
- Pros: All good
- Cons: All good
Awesome Brunch

Miriam has an amazing brunch. They have mastered the art of eggs. I highly recommend the isearli breakfast.
Good for Groups
by christie3316
Went on Saturday in a group of 8 to the new location in Cobble Hill. The waiter was super nice, and our food was great. The folks who ordered the artichokes "stuffed" with meatballs were a bit surprised to see artichoke hearts with meatballs sitting on top when they arrived, but enjoyed them nonetheless. We got a little bit picky about choosing our wine, but our waiter seemed to have an endless amount of patience with us. We sat in the front, but noticed in the back there was a great nook/curtained off area set aside for a larger party coming later that night. It looked like a GREAT place to have a large birthday dinner (for 18 or so). It was the only place in the area that would take a group of 8 at the last minute, but I have a feeling it won't be that way for long!
- Pros: great wine list, fresh ingredients
- Cons: tables in front were a bit chilly by the swinging front door
Fresh, creative, vegetarian-friendly
by alexlesman
Having eaten at the 5th Avenue location three times, I rate it as one of the best dinner options for vegetarians in Brownstone Brooklyn. There aren't a lot of veg entrees, but including the soups and salads, there is always something tasty for non-flesh-eating diners. The Mediterranean salad is a must, as is the knafe (sp?) for dessert. The wine list is broad for this level of (in)formality, and the mark-up is not outrageous. Service is casual, quirky, but competent. Expose yourself to some unusual flavors.
- Pros: Wonderful salads, good-value wine list
- Cons: Could expand the vegetarian--it's Middle Eastern, after all
Great date spot
by bklyn247
I went with my boyfriend mid-week and we had a lovely time. Waitress was very friendly although not excessively attentive. It was a relaxed evening, so this was fine. Food was quite good - we had delicious berekas to start, as well as a hummus platter that comes with a pepper mix that was quite good. Main course we had fish, perfectly seasoned, albeit very well-done. As mentioned below, the atomsphere is lovely, lighting very tastefully designed, music choices very odd. A great date!
Best brunch in park slope!

fun place, great food, the occasional really bad music playing. The servers aren't in your face and the isreali brunch is the best. Dinner is very nice too with a more romantic feel.
quiet little eatery

Very nice atmosphere, dim, but not dark. As night decends, candles light most of the room, with additional mood lighting suspended from the ceiling. Music playing adds a nice touch too. Girlfriend had the lamb, which was a little overdone, but very tender. I ate the chicken with spinach over pita. The food was all ok, all rather simple. Desert however was excellent, mint tea was great, and the knafe was amazing. Id go back.
- Pros: Decent food, great atmosphere
- Cons: Waitress a bit slow
service not great; food was average

We came here on a Sat night because my girlfriend was dying to try the place. The vibe always looked nice and the menu seemed interesting. When we arrived, the place was not crowded. Nevertheless, we had to wait an hour for our entrees. In fact the server brought us dessert menus before we even received our food! The owner comped us dessert, so no hard feelings. As to the food - it was okay. But I have had better Israeli food for half the price. I guess you are paying for the 5th Avenue location. Also, be careful if you order the burekas. The filling was so hot, I actually burned my mouth (and have blisters on my lip as proof!!)
All in all, despite the wait and blisters, it was okay. The owner was nice and seemed to be trying. And the decor/vide is nice (lighting is good). I wouldn't go out of my way though.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: service, value
