amazing food
by RenieS at Citysearch
The food is great, but the portions can be small and pricey. It's the only place I know of nearby to get an obleja, though. So yummy! Really great empanadas, too.
- Pros: really incredible food
- Cons: really incredible prices

Excellent food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Overall an incredible place to enjoy fine Latin food.
- Pros: Empanadas & mojitos

Great Empanadas!

This is such a fun place to eat for adults and kids. My 5 year old loves to go for the wicky stix!
I've gone there for lunch with my daughter and had great empanadas with Colombian style sancocho.
I've also had dinner there with friends and had great drinks at good prices.
It is a refreshing place to eat and I highly recommend it.
- Pros: Food, Decor, Music, Service
- Cons: Waiting list on weekend nights
AAA+++ Bogota Bistro...for great tasting food and Ambiance, "Bogota is my Choice"
by RSTFamily at Citysearch
Bogota was great! My family and I went to the restaurant on a Wednesday evening for dinner...unknowing to my knowledge and nice surprise; the restaurant had an entertainer performing that night. The ambiance was wonderful. I once attempted...on the fly to have dinner on a Friday, very noticeably busy...which to me is a good sign. There was a wait and at that time it was not an option...even though they had a bar for drinks, to make the wait pleasant...I was with family...and the family did not want to wait.
Back to my experience; This past Wednesday...In whole, dinner was wonderful; the drinks, the appetizers, my main dish and of course desert. The service and music performer was super and as stated before...the food was fabulous. I enjoyed every moment...most important, I felt relaxed. I look forward to re-experiencing it all over again.
- Pros: Great tasting food, great service, great ambiance.
- Cons: None yet.
Confusing and poor mix of food

The name of this restaurant is " Bogota Latin Bistro". Bogota is the capital city of Colombia. I went to this restaurant expecting authentic Colombian food especially from the Bogota region which differs from other Colombian cities.
I can understand a menu for a Colombian restaurant offering dishes from all parts of the country. I can even understand offering dishes from other countries. I understand these folks are in business and need to draw in customers.
I am very disappointed firstly because the menu offers Colombian dishes topped off with Mexican flavors ! These two cuisines are unique ! If I want Mexican, I will seek out a Mexican restaurant. Have the owners assumed we are too ignorant to explore the delicious home made flavorful rustic cuisine of Colombia?
An arepa is Colombian but topped with guacamole or avocado? Tortilla chips??? Quesadillas?? Cubano Sandwich? Fish Tacos???
If you expect Colombian food, you will be very disappointed like I was.
If you want MEXICAN FOOD, or Mexican Fusion then go. Otherwise, forget it.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: Poor food
Great Food, Great Service, Great Drinks

I LOVE this restaurant for so many reasons. I have been there six or seven times and each time I leave thinking it is the best restaurant in Park Slope. The menu is extensive and each dish I tried was not only delicious but a great value for the price. I always order the empanda sampler and the coconut flan. There drinks are equally great- you can't go wrong with their classic mojitio ( 5 dollars!!) and they have wide selection of Latin beers. The service is consistently outstanding. I find their waiters to be knowledgeable and friendly, but not too overbearing, they are able to make informed recommendations and can answer any question about the menu. FInally-their host staff is also great. I had a large party and they were able to accommodate us even though several members were late.I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, a fun atmosphere, and good drinks.
Poor service, mediocre food

To start with the positive, the guava jalapeno margarita was great. However the story goes downhill from there. We were there with a large group (of 12). As with many large groups, all members do not arrive at the same time. About 6 of our group members arrived first and were seated at a table for six, with the staff knowing that we were expecting more people. Within the half hour, we were up to 12. The staff made no effort to accommodate our expanding group. Four members of our party had to sit across the restaurant (while there was a large-group set-up that remained unused for the first half of our time and then seated with a couple and a small party during the second half). When the table next to us opened up, we asked our server if we could add it to our table and have our separated members join us. He offered to clean it first and did not refuse our request. In his absence, the hostess came over and rudely reprimanded us for asking our group members to come and sit near us citing issues with billing and ordering. She was inflexible and not as responsive to the needs of our group as she should have been. If there were such grave issues with us changing tables, as a restaurant hostess, there are nicer, friendlier ways of conveying such information. Restaurants are a hospitality business and the service and attitude that we received at Bogota was inhospitable to say the least. I would not recommend this place for a group gathering especially since in addition to the rude service, the food was not anything "to write home about" (I could say this having a good knowledge of Caribbean/Latin American foods by having family members in the restaurant business specializing in similar cuisine and my own extensive travel to those regions).
