Instant Potatoes and Frozen Food
by Justicepsych

The atmosphere, music and service were great. The food was horrible. Everything was frozen - my cornish hen even had a distinct aftertaste of freezer burn. My boyfriend's duck was super tough. The flavor was boring. It was disappointing especially since the atmosphere was so warm and fun and the staff was so welcoming...The rest of the reviews on this site must have been from a better time in this restaurant's history.
- Pros: Atmosphere and Service
- Cons: Food tastes like it was bought at Costco
Amazing food and service.

Complements to the chef, brining great flavor and spice to Clinton Hill. Good pricing and pleasant atmosphere and staff make Kush a keeper.
Fun place in an "emerging" neighborhood

After high rent exiled us from Ft. Greene and the fantastic restaurants on DeKalb, we tried Kush in our new neighborhood. We like to think of it as a diamond in the rough. The neighborhood is still under major construction and the look from outside isn't that inviting. The interior is warm and cozy once you get through the front door. The friendly staff made good recommendations and the leisurely service made for a relaxing dinner. We've also eaten in the garden which was very nicely done up and I'd recommend it if weather permits.
The meal begins with their homemade dipping oil and bread. The oil is great. The bread is a bit plain but servicable.
On our first trip to Kush, we had fish entrees. My wife had the salmon which was excellent and I had the whole fish which was outstanding. The presentation was well done and both meals had a ton of flavor and personality. We could taste the different influences and both meals came together very harmoniously.
I am not going to try to stack Kush up against Manhattan or say that it is the "best." What Kush does is introduce a great space, excellent and interesting food and friendly hospitality into a neighborhood that is on its way up. If you find yourself hungry and looking for great food in this corner of Brooklyn, it is a great place for a leisurely meal (read as: Not super speedy service) and the prices really can't be beat.
- Pros: Interesting and delicious food, great dipping oil for the bread, cozy ambiance, very reasonable prices.
- Cons: service can be a bit slow, the neighborhood hasn't arrived yet.
Truly wonderful experience!

We had such a wonderful experience at this restuarant! We were a group of 6 from all points of NY/NJ who arrived at different times, but were promptly seated as we arrived and not made to wait until all 6 arrived! Who does that?! The food was delicious--we had food from the brunch menu--and the service was amazing! We felt like we were being hosted by someone in their home. Everyone left feeling fully satisfied and impressed. We will all definitely return in the near future! P.S. This is the first restaurant of which I've felt compelled enough to write a review.
- Pros: Great service, excellent menu, wonderful experience
- Cons: None

The laidback atmosphere, the music, the friendly staff all lend to this delightful experience. Had to wait a while on the food, but it was well worth it. The chef knows what he is about, and his presentation has a twist of the exotic. The sorrel and ginger drinks are delightful and the chocolate desserts are decadent! I would go back in a heartbeat.
- Pros: tasty food, great atmosphere

I just came back from my third visit and I have never been dissapointed. I have NEVER written a review for any restaurant, but having such pleasant experiences here every time made me change my mind.
The food is excellent--I love all the seafood, especially the brochette (surf and turf) and any of the fish plates (try the whole fish, its delicious). The chef really knows flavors and seasoning; he doesn't miss a beat! The service is super friendly and although a little slow, its worth the wait. Sit in the garden in the back and enjoy the atmosphere. Plan to leave pleasantly full and making plans for your next visit.
- Pros: Flavorful food, good portions, nice garden, price is right!
- Cons: Attentive but slow service

Serves a mix of French, African and Creole dishes, with an eclectic brunch on the weekends.
Great French/African/Middle Eastern fare right in our neighborhood

We went on Valentine's day and had a great time. The menu was wonderfully eclectic. In fact we took advantage of the V-day tasting menu that offered 5 courses. The wait staff was really friendly, answering all our questions about the things on the menu we'd never heard of. The prices were great, especially for the quality and quantity of food. Besides food quality, the best reason to go to Kush is to experience their menu. It's hard to really classify what the cuisine is but it seems to be a mix of African, French, Middle Eastern and a handful of other cuisines.
- Pros: Great food, great selection, great service
- Cons: none!

I looooooooove Kush! It's *my* place. The owner is super friendly and the wait-staff is excellent. All the food is great--brunch, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. I especially enjoy the back patio now that the weather is warm--during the day or in the evening. You have to try the hang-over soup on the brunch menu!
This is a great place to go with friends, on a date, with a group or by yourself. They do take-out too! It ALL good . . .
- Pros: comfortable space, inside and outside eating, take-out
- Cons: a bit small
cozy

Cool little hidden restaurant. The staff was real friendly and the food was good. The service was a little slow but the friendly staff made up for it. A must try is the Sorrel Martini and the chicken gizzard appetizer. I never had chicken gizzards before but I like to eat so I can give them a thumbs up. The only disappointment was the grilled salmon was a little over cooked other than that everything was great!
- Pros: Inexpensive, good parking, great staff
- Cons: slow food preparation
