Loving it!

This is my favorite sushi place in Williamsburg! I have been to many and this one exceeded them all. Creative, tasty, affordable.. What's more - great service. I started going there ever since they opened few years ago and I am definitely a regular there. I usually order their sushi for 2 platter - it is huge and what a variety to chose from. My another favorite is their Kani salad - NO ONE makes it better!!! It's perfect!

So-so

Williamsburg still lacks good Japanese restaurants, and this one is just so-so. Some of the sushi rolls are indeed imaginative and pretty tasty, but be careful what you order. I've had decent dining experiences in the restaurant, but ordered for delivery recently and had a horrible stomach ache from what I ate. Chances are I got something that was not so fresh...so needless to say, I was really disappointed and will likely order something cooked (if anything at all) next time.

favorite sushi in the city

if you're looking for upscale decor and pampering, you might want to try another place. this place makes no fuss getting right to the point with consistently exceptional fish. no frills and no fancy pants prices. just great sushi. it could really get away with charging a lot more, but its totally reasonable prices is just one more reason samurai is my number one spot for sushi in ny. they've also got some delicious specialty rolls and some elegant appetizers. try the black pepper tuna tataki or the soft shelled crab appetizer. you won't be disappointed.

Best Sushi in Williamsburg

I have tried all of the "sushi" restaurants in Williamsburg (including the many pan-asian restaraunts that serve raw fish) and Samurai is the only legitimate sushi resaurant in the neighborhood. The freshness of the fish will match any Manhattan esteblishement short of the very finest five-stars, and the preparation and presentation are top-notch. Specials are garunteed palate pleasers, and the roll selection is creative and well priced. They also have some good sakes to sip with your sushi, and some great desserts for afterwards. My personal favorites are the a-la carte sushi and sashimi choices (when available the uni, live scallop, ama ebi and other more exotic specials are outstanding), but my girlfriend prefers the rolls, especially those of the "spicy-crunchy" variety. Williamsburg has a lot of choices for exotic cuisine, but when it comes to quality sushi Samurai is the only choice.

i cant believe how great the sushi is. the freshest sushi i never had and the best sushi chef i never met. he is so creative, the presentation so nice, he would make whatever i asked for. the staffs were so friendly with smiles. everything is so excellent
