This was my first time here and I was extremely pleased with the result. I got a fantastic touch up on some severely out-grown roots, high lights and low lights. The blond matched my skin tone and previous hair color perfectly. Sonia was super sweet and adorable. I also recently went to her to get my bangs trimmed for a special occasion and I was out of there in 5 minutes with sleek, symmetrical, and seemingly new haircut!! I got compliments all night! Thank you Sonia!!

Recently went to Michael at Panyc Salon to get my hair colored and cut. He sat me down and had a nice consultation with me about my hair. I really felt like he took his time with me in talking to me about what would be best for my hair. From start to finish, he really made me feel like I was the only one in the salon. He kept coming up to me to ask if I was ok and if I neede anything. Panyc is a great place to get your hair cut and colored. Michael was excellent and for the price you can't beat it in Manhattan. I will definatelly be coming back. Thanks Michael!

Pros: Great place for a great price, beautiful atmosphere

I recently went to the Panyc hair salon to have my hair cut. The stylist that was recommended to me was a young man by the name of Michael. I was so excited to go to this salon because its been awhile since I've treated myself. My hair cut turned out really nice but I wish I could say the same for my stlist. This young made me feel like I was waisting his time. He acted like he had better things to do then cut my hair. Then to make matters worse I had to hunt him down, because I wanted to tip him personally. When I finally did find him I had the pleasure of hearing him trash talk one of his clients. I can safely say I will not be coming back to this salon. The hair cut was really nice but his attitude made me feel like I was a burden.

Pros: Nice space, descent hair cut.

Cons: A hairstlyist that makes you feel like they have better things to do.

I've gotten cuts from Michael a couple times, and he's given me the best haircuts I've ever had. He listened closely to my requests but still managed to do a really artful job. He has terrific instincts, and is very engrossed in his work. I won't be going to anyone else in the city.

ohmy goodness- i went in a little while ago and wanted to blond from brown. I saw marylou and was really happy with the results. I guess this is my third time or so doing the whole overnight change thing so i wasnt suprised by how detailed the process is, so dont expect to go through a change like that in just an hour. and i must say when you change like that overnight it is very fun. i guess i like big changes!

I had an appointment with Simon at Panyc. It was the worse service and cut I've ever received. He did not allow enough time for the service I requested and proceeded to rush through my appointment. I will never go back to this salon. JC was also there the day I went and he seems to be a good stylist. His client looked awesome when he was done. Unfortunately I could not say the same about myself. I looked worse coming out than going in. All in all it was a waste of $76! IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AT THIS SALON DO NOT MAKE IT WITH SIMON. YOU WILL DEFINITELY REGRET IT!!!!!

Pros: none

Cons: a complete waste of money. i'm still annoyed

I haven't cut my hair in months and then I decided to cut about 8 inches off... I found panyc salon on citysearch and was recommended to go to Sonia. I was extremely nervous and wasn't even entirely sure what I wanted, but she worked with me to figure out a cut that looks fantastic. I have gotten nothing but raves from my friends, family and co-workers. The cut is cute, fun, sassy and so easy to manage! I love it and will definitely bring my business back here to Sonia. Thank you!!

Pros: everyone was really nice; all stylists seemed to be doing a great job; Sonia

I had my first cut at Panyc a couple of months ago - and while it was a pleasant experience I by no means left the salon "loving" my hair. Wayyyy over-due for a cut I made another appointment at Panyc and crossed my fingers that the second time would be the charm. My appointment was with Sonia and she worked MAGIC with my long hair! She listened to my requests/concerns and then gave me the beautiful, easy, gorgeous cut I had been hoping for. It's a shame the previous reviewer had such an unpleasant experience - but mine was just the opposite! It's the best cut I've had in 10yrs in NYC!

Pros: friendly staff, great space, reasonable price

This woman butchered my hair. I asked for a simple trim and I ended up with some crazy rocker chick chop job. I went to another salon to get a consult about fixing it and the stylist said that this was the worst haircut she's seen in years. It's going to take over a year to get it back to the way it was before. I thought $65 was a good deal, but it ened up costing $200 all together after getting it fixed. Not to mention I've lost the majority of my hair. It's been over a week and I still want to cry every time I look at my hair. So, save your money and your tears and avoid Panyc and Sonia at all cost.

Pros: Nice salon space

Cons: Terrible Haircut, Sonia
