Luzzo is the only real Italian pizza in NY. It's amazing. If you like Grimaldi, then stick to that, because you have no idea of what a pizza is.
Pros: best pizza in the city
Cons: none that i could think of

When you going to Luzzo's you feel that you are in Napoli. The service is very good. The pizzas are soft and delicious.
Pros: Good place to eat with the families or friends.

First, I say I like the pizza. No one on here is overhyping it-- it's good. But... there's one waiter who has waited on me at least five times that makes me feel like I am buying a used car. It doesn't matter how many people I dine with, he's always trying to "upsell" me to buy a large pizza or an extra pizza. Bottom line is the pizza is good, but after the most recent visit I think takeout is the safest way to go.

New York City is a big "Pizza Market", where there is too much competition and not too much tast about this kind of products. I been around, i grow up in Italy, and, i heared about Luzzo too many times. Finally i went there, and........Don't even use the words: Best Coal Oven, or Best Pizza. You guys are too far away from "a vera pizza a' legna".

There are many options in the East Village to eat but I went to Luzzo's after a friend recommended it. I went during lunch as I was in need of a great meal from a long night. The minute you walk in it almost feels like you are walking into a restaurant in Italy. The coal overns in the back really add to the mood and make the food even better. We started off with the buffalo mozzerella pizza and upon eating the 1st slice, I had never tased anything so delicious, so light, and so full of natural flavor. I was lucky enough to meet the owners and compliment them. I learned all the ingredients were imported which explains why the taste was so immaculate. The home made gnochhi was a must try as well!
Pros: Pizza, Italian Food, Ambiance, Service

My friend and I were looking for "a very good slice" today and came across Luzzo's. We saw the reviews in the window and, being pizza aficianados, had to give it a try. Our meal started out well -- friendly and quick service, charming atmosphere, and a nice eggplant parm appetizer. We ordered a large pizza after our server suggested "large" for the two of us. Well, when the pie came, we knew we'd been bamboozled -- a small would have been perfect for us! It was a lot of pizza. The pie itself? Not that great. Like some other reviewers have noted, our pizza was limp, not crispy, and lukewarm. I did not like the cheese scattered in dollops (rather than shredded on the whole pie) and the basil leaves were sparse. And overall there was no real "pizza flavor." I've had pizza in Italy, and all over the U.S., and this just doesn't rate. Sorry! Give me a good slice from a Brooklyn "dive" pizza shop any day!
Pros: casual and friendly atmosphere, the complimentary Italian bread and olive oil
Cons: the hype. this place is way overrated

I'm Italian, I've eaten so many pizzas in Italy you cannot even imagine, but pizza you can find at Luzzo is simply perfect. Light, tasty, crispy, done with excellent ingredients... why looking around for something different, when you've found the best??

If you want to taste actual pizza, come here. If you don't then get out of here. Hands down the best pizza of my life and waitresses ain't too bad either. They're good looking too! There is a reason REAL Italians like this place. Perfectly executed think crust, fresh cheeses (and not too much of it) and the best sauce you'll ever taste. Heard these people moved to NY from Napoli. So if your favorite kind of pizza is real pizza, here you go. Don't make me repeat myself! REAL PIZZA.
Pros: Oh yeah, did I forget to tell you the prices are cheap for the best pizza you'll ever taste. And the waitresses are pretty and they are all nice people.
Cons: If you don't like good pizza or pretty girls and you have a problem with Italians then stay away.

I went to this place after reading the rave reviews on here and was really disappointed. I ordered a neopolitan pizza and an artichoke dish. The pizza was so soft I could barely pick it up-and the toppings were meager. The artichoke dish which cost $9.50 consisted of 4 tiny pieces of artichokes which tasted like they came out of a can. Also, my server, without asking me what size I wanted, gave me a large, pricier pizza (trust me, me and my friend did not look like we needed a large) which cost $22. I have found better pizza for $2 a slice.

Hands down this is the most authentic pizza in the world including Italy, here it's all about the pizza, burnt to the right amount, bubbly and crusty to the right amount, soft and crunchy, tangy tomato sauce and the mozzarella even melted you can tell it was the freshest.Try and fold it when it come out ...it wil stay up and hold the toppings. The flavor are really authentic and delicious.Everythingelse .....live it to posterity for ratings, If you want to be really cool and be like a true neapolitan go there order a pizza with your favorite toppings and a bottle of Gragnano, you'll see ,you can still be a king spending less then $ 40.Enjoy
Pros: PIZZA,PIZZA,PIZZA, PIZZA did i mention PIZZA
Cons: o come on
