Great Place

This place is great. For the quality of the food, the price is VERY reasonable and they have a great, reasonably priced winelist. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about wine.I love this place.I would recommend to anyone
The $100 Mistake: Overpriced and Mediocre at Best
by s_a at Citysearch
I have no idea how this restaurant has received so many 5 star reviews because between the quality of the food, and the ridiculous prices, it is worth at best 1 star (and that's stretching it).
The sangria barely has any alcohol, and tastes bland. The oyster appetizer looked like it was regurgitated and tasted that way as well. The quail leg was freezing cold, and when we told the waitress that it was too cold to eat, she explained that all cold tapas were that temperature. There is a big difference between cold and the temperature of an icicle...and this was so cold it was not even edible.
The Jamon Serrano plate was little better that a few slices (probably from a package) tossed on a plate, and the stuffed peppers were bland and also freezing cold. The dish of olives was small, and little better than the ones from a jar. For such low quality food the prices were astounding, and the quantities were tiny. In one dish, about half of the clam shells were actually missing clams inside.
Now I understand that Tapas can be expensive, and have no illusions that quality food has a price, but these prices are truly unjustifiable. Our bill (for 2) was a bit over $100.00, and we still left feeling hungry.
Please, before you even think about going to this place, read all of the REAL reviews...not the fake ones that go on and on about how authentic and cozy this place is. We fell into the trap of reading the good ones, and writing off the bad ones as isolated incidents, and that was a BIG mistake...actually a $100.00 mistake.
- Pros: Looks Authentic, but looks are deceiving
- Cons: Overpriced, Low Quality, Small Portions
slloooooowwwwww service over priced and blah
by kidkatinbklyn at Citysearch
the service was sooooo slow. A few of the items we ordered were ok, the cheese stick things forget what they are called. The chicken with french fries was the nastiest thing.... it looked and tasted like they had pulled it out of the dupster at the meat packing plant 2 blocks away......
The sangria was good but the small pitcher was only 3 glasses. Bad value.
I do hear that they have a decent happy hour, might be worth checking out for drinks .
- Pros: out door seating
- Cons: just not that great

Great Food, Awesome Drinks, and Service the way it should be.

I went out to Zipi Zape, a Saturday night, and we drove in. There was parking everywhere. There is a bar and restaurant (seating area), and the owners are very relaxed. The patrons seemed to be very relaxed and willing to talk to you as soon as you walked in the door. The drinks were awesome, and we had a wonderful time hanging out until they closed. They had even stayed open an extra half hour after close for us since we were having such a wonderful time. All, of the food was wonderful. This is a must do to start your night.
- Pros: Great tasting drinks, and food
- Cons: They close at midnight.
Diego is brilliant.

Don't waste your time experimenting around Williamsburg. I've been here for 8 years and I have to say Diego's cooking is an old homestead, everything I've had was delicious, and the service is awesome. I really cannot give enough accolades.
- Pros: The food, the service, the seafood.
- Cons: No brunch, .. yet.

don't waste your time. the service was absolutely awful. we were completely ignored and left without ever getting served or being acknowledged on a saturday night when there were empty tables, you do the math.

Wow, I have not had tapas that good in a long time! I heard good reviews & they were actually true! The croquetas, garlic shrimp, razor clams, chorizo et al were amazing. can't go wrong with anything on the menu. House cocktails were limited but the wines are nice. Worth the trip to Williamsburg! Staff was very laid back & attentive. Cute decor & nice ambience! This one is a winner & a keeper
- Pros: inexpensive, seemed authentic
- Cons: small dining area, not in manhattan
