SHADY! BEWARE!!!

I wish my brother had done some research on these guys before he spent $3000 on a TV, 4yr Warranty, 3yr Lamp Replacement, and a TV Stand that he didn't need as the TV already has a stand.
In August of 06 he purchased a Samsung DLP TV. The online price was approx. $1500. He was then talked into a warranty ($399), lamp replacement ($299), and a TV stand ($199). He eventually talked to someone to confirm his order and it was at that time he told the salesperson/scam artist, that he really didn't want the extra stuff he just wanted the TV. The sales guy went on to tell my brother that he was on recording saying he would purchase the "extras" and if he didn't he would have to cancel the whole order. My brother still really wanted the TV so he went ahead with the order. After the TV and stand arrived he sent the stand back and ended up eating $50 in shipping costs.
This brings me to present day.. On February 19, 2009 the TV started having issues i.e. randomly turning on and off by itself, only sound- no picture. We still have all of the paperwork and we figured the process of getting it handled under the warranty would be pretty simple. Boy were we wrong. Come to find out Prestige Camera was supposed to send a booklet for our warranty with a 13 digit membership number. This number should also have been documented on our invoice, which it wasn't. I also noticed that on the invoice it doesn't specify the ammont he paid for each individual item, it's all listed as the price of the TV? Anyhow, both companies are saying that the other was responsible for sending him this number and unfortunately, until we have that number there's nothing the warranty place can do. I've pretty much given up talking to these companies. I'll call them and ask them (Prestige) to pull up my order and they can't find it because it's "too old" and then the next time I call it magically appears? Needless to say I contacted the AG office. Sound familiar? I suggest you do the same 718-722-3949.
- Pros: There are none.
- Cons: SCAM!
Worst On-Line Purchase Experience I have Ever Had!
by TXPhoto at Citysearch
Avoid them like the plague! I love the camera I got but after biting on thier great price, i got a follow up call asking if I needed a lens. I had not heard of this before but got it. Then it was the battery. I ended up paying less than the price at local stores but alot more than the Circuit City close out price. The extended battery I received was not a Nikon and their free overnight delivery turned out to be a 5 day ground and was $19.95. I would suggest if you use them to get the names of the very rude sales or customer service reps that you speak with regularly. They also lie becasue my camera was about $50 less only 19 days later on their site. And when I questioned the 21 day warranty they said there is a 15% rstock but my ticket states it is a 5%. Neither are on the 21 day logo on the website. I would stay away at all costs from Prestige.
- Pros: Not Many
- Cons: Dishonest and rude sales and customer service personnel!

Stay away from Prestige Camera. They use deceptive advertising and high pressure calls to get you to buy other items for more money than they advertise. If you place an order on the internet, they have to speak with you to "confirm" your oder. This is when they talk you into other items. They also charge more than advertised for shipping or charge a handling charge. When you get your purchase the invoice will have a "package price". No way to know what each individual item costs=== but it will be more than you wanted to pay. They also operate under several other names. I also dealt with them under the name Broadway Photo. Same problemsI
DO NOT BUY FROM PRESTIGE CAMERA

These guys are crooks. While I did receive my camera at the price that was advertised, the only reason I wasn't talked into fake warrantees, battery upgrades or other overpriced, junk items was because I knew exactly what I was buying. This was not the xase with my mother who was tricked into buying the EXACT SAME camera for $140 more, two days later. It took days, going around and around with them to figure out how to return the original order so that we could order the same camera again at the proper price.
There are too many credible internet vendors out there to deal with Prestige Camera. I could not recommend more strongly that you spend your money elsewhere. There is no telling how many thousands of dollars they have scammed off of people that simply didn't know any better.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Constant slick-talking upsell

sorry im same guy as below but this website is conusing and cut me off so i made a new account heres rest of what i was goign to write.
I know i should have done this from the start, but after reading all your reviews i was nervous i was going to get a dud camera, or a broken one, or not at all. I got a email 3 days later telling me my tracking number. a week and a half later i recieved my camera, which is kind of late. I was still scared i got a dud, but i charged the battery full and tested the camera for a good 2 weeks and everythign worked out okay. So i would just liek to tell you guys yes they will charge you an extra $20 for handling charged even though it says freeshipping, and it will not come within a week like i expected even though i live in the same city(brooklyn). In the end i saved maybe 10 bucks at most, i dont think it was worth it because for same price after handling i could have purchased this camera on bestbuy online with a memory card. so guys dont be scared if you already purchased it from prestigecamera i got my camera and i was legit and authentic us version, just avoid buying the battery when they call you the original battery is fine it doesnt last half an hour like thay said.
the recent truth from a brooklyn customer

im writing this review because i purchased a camera from prestige camera online like many of you guys and was scared the whole time after reading reviews. i wrote this review just so not all of you guys will be as terrified as me after purchasing the camera. Let me start by saying i found prestige camera by a friend who was random online web shopping for me. prestigecamera had the cheepest prices for the nikon s60 so i continued to purchase the camera. The instant i confirmed the original price of the camera increased because of taxes since i live in brooklyn new york also which is normal. The next thing i realized was that i was charged a handling charge, even though it said free shipping. This handling charge in somthing i didnt expect because i saw free shipping. so next morning i was called in the morning and told that my camera only last half a hour and should purchase their battery for $70. i told them i would decide later, and called nikon to see if it even existed and if that was true.afterwards i called prestige camera back and told them i didnt want the extra battery. This is when i thought the company was really fishy, and lookeed up online reviews.
- Pros: got the camera but not much cheeper
- Cons: horrible customer service, and hidden charges
Sony Cyber Shot from prestige camera, got it but wouldn't recommend it.

Well, I ordered Sony camera from this site (prestigecamera) because of the lowest price and 5star reviews that came out with the price comparison (according to my google search). Next day I decided to check more reviews for the prestigecamera, and what I found out, OMG!!! I was upset and scared that I just lost my money. Yeah, I got the next day email and also their phone call, yeah the guy told me about 20min battery, and other stuff, also when he asked me if I knew my total, I said no and asked him to remind me (of course I knew it, $227.50) he said very fast like it was $239.50! instead of $227.50! I'm like, wait a sec, what the heck, yesterday it was $227.50, today it's already $239.50??? He tried to say that it's for the handling, I just said NO WAY!!! it didn't say anything like that on the site yesterday, either you do it for $227.50 or just cancel it. OK, he did $227.50. After I refused to buy all "necessary accessories" for my camera, he just wished me "enjoy" :)
After that I called them several times, was on hold for 10-20 minutes, but finally spoke with them every time I called, and they answered all my questions without trying to sell anything else...
So, I got my camera, in 2 days, as I chose for the shipping method, everything was fine, camera, battery (original one), all accessories included, everything came in just fine. Instructions on different languages and of course in English, invoice. I hope it does not just look fine, but will work fine. But I won't risk one more time with something else from prestigecamera, think won't be lucky next time;)
The last thing I would like to say is that "Guys, let's become more watchful and attentive. Don't let them all trick us, lie to us and fool us by swindling out our money!"
What a Rip Off!
by horsfield at Citysearch
Ordered a Nikon d40 camera at what appeared to be a good price. Got an email to call and confirm my address and the salesman (conman) tried to sell me everything imaginable at ridiculously high prices. Just prior to finishing up he stated that the Japanese version of the camera and warranty was being sent and that for $150 more I could have the US version of the camera and the US warranty. The website never indicated that it was anything other than the US version. I cancelled my order immediately. They should be shut down for their bad business practices. I will be in touch with the Attorney General's office to see that they get investigated. BIG RIP OFF! Stay far away and if you have been scammed report them immediately. They should be shut down.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: RIP OFF!
Don't buy from Prestige Camera
by guylussiez at Citysearch
I order a Samsung LCD TV that seemed a very good deal. Then, I received a call saying I had to add the stand for $150 (normally included in the box), an expensive cable, etc. I said it might be OK if they sent me details of the items they offered by e-mail, but they never did and I just received one saying "your order has been processed" I sent them two more e-mails and tried to contact by phone, but got nowhere, except receiving more: "Your order has been processed", then "your order has been shipped". Don't buy from them.
