Cozy, unpretentious bistro
by CTown
This place is SOOOOOOO cute! The service is on point. The atmosphere is really charming. The food...DELISH!! Their wine selection is great and the pricing is definitely very, very fair. We left stuffed, happy and in total food coma!!!
- Pros: Inexpensive!
- Cons: Actually pretty pleased with everything.

Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant/Lounge
by Kristen R
The Belleville is, hands down, my favorite place in Park Slope for great food, drinks, and awesome, laid-back entertainment.
Everything on the menu is wonderful, and the restaurant's main space is great for leisurely chatting with friends for as long as you feel like staying. The staff has always made me feel welcome and part of the neighborhood.
The Belleville Lounge, right in back of the restaurant, also serves food and drink, plus has various storytelling and stand-up shows that are always very casual, personal, and a great way to spend an evening.
Kudos to the management and staff for running such a great operation.
- Pros: Friendly staff, excellent food, great space
Closed on a Friday night in the summer?!?
by steph_nyc_07
I think it's in bad taste to close an entire restaurant on a Friday night in the middle of summer! I hope they're charging the people who rented it out a small fortune.
Very disappointed as I made plans with a friend to go there tonight, and now I will not have the opportunity to visit this restaurant in my neighborhood for a long time, if ever, mostly because I'm disappointed and skeptical.
Je suis très déçu, c'est inacceptable.
- Pros: wouldn't know
- Cons: closed on a Friday night
Wonderful food and service!
by ViaMari
I really enjoy my time at Belleville. The food is delicious (the hanger steak is exceptional!) and the staff is very nice and friendly. Their prices are wonderful and I recommend the ever-changing pre-fix dinner. I spent my Valentines Day here and had a great time.
- Pros: great pre-fix menu, friendly staff
- Cons: a little noisy
Our new favorite French Bistro!
by moniquemichel
...and one of the best in New York!
Fabulous food, fun hip atmosphere. great wine list. We felt like we were in Paris.
Been there over 12 times and each time we discover something new we love. The Fresh daily made pate is a must, and the desserts, my husband and I can't pass them up...they are so french, light and wonderful.
We heard they were opening a wine and tapas bar. We can't wait

Just what a French Bistro should be!

Returned after not having been for at least a year or more and it's still great! Needed a quick light meal after a day of shopping and having had a late lunch. We shared a salad and each had entree's. DW had the scallops and I had the skate. Amazing perfecty cooked full of flavor and very nicely plated. A bottle of wine and we were all set. Both of us saying we couldn't believe we waited so long to return. We'll be back sooner rather than later. Also felt the prices were very reasonable.
- Pros: Great Food, good service, pleasant ambiance
- Cons: We don't live in Brooklyn
BELLEVILLE IS AWESOME!
by brklynchefmike
I went to Belleville about 2 weeks ago, and when me and my friends were trying to decide on where to this weekend I couldn't help but suggest Belleville. I guess my friends had been there in the past because they said it was completely different. Anyway, everyone loved it again. Our waiter got us excited talking about their new lounge opening up too. It looks like Park Slope is slowly turning into Brooklyn's version of Chelsea with Belleville, their new lounge, Excelsior and Gingers all on the same block!
As for the food, I surrendered to ordering what I had last time which were the mussels and duck. Again, they were great.
- Pros: hot staff
- Cons: actually, nothing
Wonderful French Restaurant
by SouthSlope
We love this place and visit it on a fairly regular basis. The atmosphere is wonderful, the wine list extensive, and the food is fantastic. We also love the staff as they have always been friendly and helpful. The owner is often on hand to make sure everything is taken care of. A really great neighborhood spot!
