Great Food.....Very Small Portions....
by Konstantin11
I do recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes great asian food. However, i also recommend to eat a little bit before you come to this restaurant as the portions are very small. I had Pad Tai and Shrimp Dumpling, both of which were very delicious....The poprtions were so small that when my wife and I left the restaurant i was still hungry (and we are not one of those people who like to pig out)......Service was good and the place is very modern.
- Pros: Food is great, service, ambience
- Cons: small portions
Loved it and Would Try it Again and Again
by foodsamplerqueen
I went to this restaurant last night with my boyfriend since it was participating in brooklyn restaurant week. The service was great, the sushi was fresh and the speciality cocktails were delicious ( try the voodoo juice and the mango mai tai). My boyfriend doesn't care to much for asian food and he was licking his fingers afterwards ( try the Mango Chicken) you won't regret it.
The waiter was friendly and was open to answering questions about the food, its origin and the chef. The atmosphere was very romantic.
The food is kind of pricey but if you really want good food.. you got to pay for it.
Please go you won't regret it..
- Pros: Food, Service

Worst place I've ever been to
by 12summer
Don't go to this place. I have a big stomach ache from eating there last night. First of all, I expected more asian dishes to choose from since it was supposed to be an Asian fusion place. But the only choices were either Japanese or Thai. So we ordered their sushi, figured that you can't go wrong by ordering their specialty roll, but I guessed wrong. The fish was not fresh. Honestly, I won't be surprised if it was more than a couple of days old. Then, I bit into a giant piece of king crab shell that was inside the sushi. My god, if that wasn't enough. The rice was hard and the other sashimi pieces were dry and discolored. And what they advertised as special sauce on their menu tasted like pre-packaged sauces from a can. I've had better sushi from a cafeteria. The food was overpriced too, $15 for a specialty roll.
As for the the service, it was just as bad as the food. The waiter kept knocking over my glass when he almost poured the sake on the floor. It was super slow, even though it wasn't busy in the place at all.
- Cons: Horrible food, terrible service and overpriced
The worst place I have been to in Bayridge
by ch0d0
First let me start by saying that I never write a review but I just had to let the public know what a bad experience I had there.
Last night my wife and I went there to try a new place, we ordered on of there special rolls, and when my wife bit into the roll she stabbed herself in the mouth with large piece of shell that was not taken out of the food. I usually can understand that these things can happen but when I told the waiter he had an attitude and said oh we will make you another one. I kindly told him that we did not want another one just the check. can you believe that the freaking roll was on the bill I had to ask them to take it off. WTF? I personally will never go there again the worst place I don't expect them to stay in business for long. Also the service was terrible
- Cons: the resturant.
great food, service not so much
by acarr2500
I loved the food here and would go back, but service was slow. The atmosphere is really not my scene but I knew that going in, so can't blame the restaturant on that front. Sushi was the freshest I've had in Bay Ridge, beef negimaki appetizer was very good and the thai soup was excellent.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: expensive and can be loud, slow service
Can?t go wrong with this restaurant - Great Food and Service
by mindy82
Twenty two (22) of my friends and I went to Nouvelle for my birthday and it was a wonderful experience. As it was so many of us the restaurant reserved the lower level for my party. We dealt with Wilson and Matt and their service was excellent. The food was on par with the service. I am not a sushi lover, actually I try to stay away from it, but after having the sushi (specifically the king lobster rolls) at this place I went back. I also tried two of the Thai dishes ( Panang Curry and Kwaytio Kee Mao) and it was also superb. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a delicious Sushi / Thai dinner and experience very pleasant service. Great friends, great food, great place, great service priceless. Dinner for 22 people under $700, worth every penny!
- Pros: Food, Service, Price
- Cons: None
A little bit different and good.

I've gone to Nouvelle five or six times going back over the past two years. It has always been a great experience. For the first time, we tried the outdoor dining, nothing special outside, it doesn't reflect the setting established on the interior. The sushi is better than average and the rolls while not "traditional" gives an interesting spin on standard sushi rolls. Not so much for sushi traditionalists, but good for those wanting a great dinner with good service. The mixed drinks are also delicious there too.
- Pros: Great food, great mixed drinks
- Cons: OUtdoor seating doesn't compare to the indoor seating.
food good, but it's not manhattan
by quietmomentz
nice roll creativity, along with plenty fusion, outside patio has an interesting view, a line of wet clothes drying from a neighboring building's window hehe, ok interior but nothing extravagant.
- Pros: menu creativity
exotic but not best
by musiksphere
the restaurant doesn't stand out among other sushi places on 3rd ave, but you may wanna try some of the thai dishes except for the pad thai which seems to come off the kids menu(the portion).
- Pros: good thai food
- Cons: tacky decor
Best sushi in Brooklyn. If you love Nobu, you'll love this place.
by nativenyer10
Nobu quality fish (and overall menu) at less than half the price. Nouvelle is far better than its closest competition for high quality sashimi in Brooklyn, Blue Ribbon. My personnel favorites are the Yellow Tail jalapeno; Rock Shrimp Tempura; Tuna Pizza; Pink Panther roll; and Miso Black Cod. Also go for the calamari and the 3 Star Sashimi. Great drinks, especially the Key Lime Pie martini. Service could be better, but this place would have lines down the block if it was in Manhattan. I go there several times a month and can't get enough of their food.
- Pros: Highest quality sashimi/sushi around, at half of Manhattan prices
