What users are saying:
This smartly decorated Williamsburg lounge bumps on weekends and slows on school nights.

The Scene
The cavernous setting provides a different brand of cozy than the other shabby-chic locales in the neighborhood. Softening touches include arched ceilings, an open-range roaring fireplace, deep brown leather booths, and dark teak wood tables dappled with votive candles. Weekends pack in clientele from Manhattan, as well as young, native Brooklynites. Weeknights cater to the typical Williamsburg hipster, and can be hit-or-miss depending on how many friends the DJ brings. Music spun from the elevated booth ranges from R&B to indie rock.
The Draw
On the crazier weekend dance nights, the largeness of the space is appreciated; on quieter nights, it can feel desolate or intimate, depending on how alone you want to be with your drinking partner. If the pace gets too slow, there's always the pool table or the patio, where a chain link fence with overgrown ivy barely veils the view into the garden next door.
Great ambience and music!

Friday and Saturday nights are always packed and feature your generic party hip-hop and 80s tunes. Great vibe and dancing on these nights. I also would recommend Wednesdays nights for the No Jacket Required weekly. DJs spin a good mix of soulful drum & bass, deep house and downtempo...great for lounging or getting your groove on the dance floor.
- Pros: DJs, Nice crowd, Large venue
GREAT PLACE FOR DRINKS & GOOD FOOD

Red & Black surprisingly has great apps and the drink prices are a perfect match for the current economy. I love the lounge-like feel but it is much warmer than your standard lounge. The staff is great and I love the see-through fireplace.
- Pros: Bartenders, Inexpensive, Atmosphere
Red & Black colors me pink

Great decor, sort of airplane hanger meets log cabin. Cool bartenders that aren't rude to you. I have heard some great DJ's on a Friday night (though I have also heard some bad ones). And they even have some great garlic fries.
- Pros: Good music (usually), Good drink prices
- Cons: Williamsburg hipsters
