My fiance who is now my husband introduced me to JT while we were dating and it's an amazing chocolate experience! The ice cream is to DIE for! LOVE the champagne truffles!!
Not as great as Chocolate Bar
by lindsayalix
I thought this place was pretty good, but Im still loyal to the best chocolate hot spot in the city, Chocolate Bar. Its the best chocolate I've ever had and their new location in the West Village is unbelievable... must try!

The best HOT Chocolate I have ever had in my life. To this day I still remember its taste. A must go!
Unpretentious gourmet chocolate
by jenniferstimson2346
Jacques Torres is equally comfortable creating 5-star desserts and covering cornflakes with chocolate -- what's not to like? The shop itself is cute and cozy, and you can look through a window at the chocolates being manufactured next door. My "wicked" spicy hot chocolate had a few lumps, but nothing a brisk stir couldn't fix. I just hope they don't have to post calorie counts.
Wonderful chocolate and vibe
by zima66thstreet
This place is Heaven in Brooklyn. The exquisite chocolates are also great to look at. And when all you want is a piece of chocolate or a crosisant with coffee, this place is hard to beat. Then, the cobblestone streets and the old brick of the warehouse across the street really add to the overall "ambience" of the site. I love to bring my kids for an afternoon treat after shopping at Pomme, Half Pint or Powerhouse Books.
Try the simple chocolate-covered nuts. These make great take-home treats to offer to visitors or are great just to snack on.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Who could find a con with this chocolate! Oh! Long lines sometimes!
Better than Godiva

I like this place even the cobble street it happens to be on. Hot chocolate is a must try but so are all the varieties of chocolate. My mom loves it! The kids love it! Chocoholics rejoice!
Jacques knows his chocolate

I think I'm the only person who hates the hot chocolate here - so thick, it's like a meal in itself. I go for the unique truffle selection. My favorite is the "love bug" - white chocolate with a key lime center, and also the "Chai tea." They have about 30 different ones to choose from, in white, dark, & milk chocolate, and new flavors are introduced often. Other yummy treats include chocolate-covered cheerios. And across the street is a wonderful French bakery not to be missed called Almondine.
The Best in the City
by misha519
I have probably tried most if not all the hot chocolate places in the city and this is my favorite. It's rich and delicious!
- Pros: hot chocolate
Great spot..but not for traditional chocolatiers
by lovely626
I went looking for vanilla creme chocolates...or coconut cream which were both a no go---they have a non-traditional selection of chocolates, which can be great for non-traditional chocolate lovers...but if you are looking for your favs, this is not the place to go...on the brigth side I did have one of the best chocolate crossaints I have ever tasted.....
great time!

went in with some friends, had a great time. . the place was slamming busy, but the staff seemed to have it pretty much under control. The desserts were a little odd, but fun, not your run of the mill fare. i'll be back.
- Pros: food, service
