SALAAM Theatre is run by Geeta Citygirl who is by far, one of the hardest working theatre folks out there. When one goes to a SALAAM production/event, it is a total experience. She doesn't cut corners and for a suggested donation of 5 bucks, you get some of the hottest underground South Asian-American urban talent as well as Indian food and wine and soda. And Miss Citygirl is absolutely approachable which makes the experience wonderful. She is what some call the Citymama and all the SALAAM supporters are her kiddies. Check out her 3rd Mondays series. It's the underground NYC deal showcasing all kinds of people from all walks of life, mixing up all creative disciplines. She's got theatre, spoken word, poetry, dance, music, film, live painting -- You get the point. We're big Citygirl fans!!!
