Definitely Must Go

by binoche at Citysearch

I loved it! They just got their liquor license and they have an amazing wine list to go with their simple yet "so comforting" kind of menu. Been there twice, the first time I had their Lafayette burger and it tasted just like the menu made it to out to be. The spices were nice and cooked just like I ordered. The second time I just went for dessert and had their crepe of the day and it melted perfectly with my glass of champagne. I didn't get a chance to sit outside as they were packed but inside was cozy and pleasant. We listened to a mix of french, arabic, & brazilian music, and watched their very friendly staff maneuver between their little redecorated tables. Can't wait to try their mussels. Table next to me ordered them and it smelled so good.

  • Pros: menu, staff, ambience
  • Cons: get there early for outside seating

little bit of paris in bkny

by babyk at Citysearch

the food is consistently great! i had the salmon for the first time tonight and it was better than some seafood restaurants i've been to. i've had practically everything on their menu as i dine out alot but their burgers and mussels with fries are what bring me there every friday night. the servers are always pleasant and even charming at times. And where else in this ever changing neighboorhood can you still gather with your friends for a great meal and a glass of wine for $20 or under? and now they take credit cards!

  • Pros: food, backgrond music, wait staff
  • Cons: hard to find parking

Worst Server EVER!

by jasminm at Citysearch

I've worked in food service and I'm pretty forgiving especially when the server is busy. Today was surreal. The waitress actually gave me a dirty look when I asked for another cup of coffee and then kept walking without saying anything and never came back to the table! Never! Our food took about 40 minutes and she never came back to the table. When the food did come it was great, as always. I had to shout to get the check because she refused to make eye contact with anyone at our table. She smiled and nodded and twenty minutes later we still didn't have the check!? It was amazing. It was like she wanted us to walk out on the bill and not tip. We did neither of those things, but I've never been so tempted.

  • Pros: Great Food, Reasonably priced, smoking on the patio
  • Cons: EVIL WAITRESS!, tight quarters, busy on the weekend

This little bistro that could is one of Fort Greene's best places to nestle and nibble.

In Short
This small neighborhood favorite is the definition of cozy with its tiny Formica tables, ever-changing artwork and dropped tin ceiling. Up front, a large bay window provides a basement view of the neighborhood; at the rear, the tiny open kitchen serves up a limited variety of dishes: fish and chips, Thai chicken and hamburgers with caramelized onions all co-exist without any concerns about culinary common ground.

Best chocolate desserts in Brooklyn

Wonderful atmosphere, sexy french staff and the yummiest food around. Nevermind that it is also close to the train and that they now have a liquor license! Perfect.

real deal

by hungy at Citysearch

out of all the resturants that poped up in the area over the past few years this one is by far the most comfortable, and most importantly for me consistantly the best food. The menu is small, but everything tastes exactly as it should everytime. Probably the best hamburger i have ever had ( w goat cheese.) A calm relaxed atmosphere, never as crowded as the other spots around the hood. Damn, i sound like i am selling the place, but after being disapointed many times by other resturants in the area quality of food, and execution of recipies, i have never been disapointed here. Everything is always very good from a cup of coffee to a potato soup to the steak au povre! Cant go wrong! maybe wine list could be better though.

  • Pros: food, atmosphere, food
  • Cons: vine list but not bad

Tres intime

by jegilford at Citysearch

Just what you'd expect in Ft. Greene, right down to the soft-spoken waiter with the deep 5 o'clock shadow. A half floor below sidewalk level, it's small, a bit cramped, but very cozy. You're really in the neighborhood here. You can watch the kitchen from your table. I go for the steak frites. My companions have had everything from salads to fish to chops and everyone loved it. Great date joint.
