best DJs in NYC
by newyorker627
black betty is perhaps the best kept secret of brooklyn, if not the whole city. if you are a true music fan and want to hear some great old school rap, funk and soul, this is the place. an eclectic crowd that isnt afriad to dance.
great food and outdoor seating

I come here often with friends for great greek food. We particularly love sitting outback when it's warm. I had the eggplant mouffasa and it was amazing.

Fantastic DJ-Chill Bartenders
by her34
I went to Black Betty this past Saturday with a group of 7 other girls anwas myd a guy. A DJ by the name of Sean was working the turntables and rocked the house. We chose this spot as an extended birthday celebration for a friend and the DJ kept us very, very happy! I will go back, but I'll check ahead of time to make sure that DJ is there. My friends couldn't get enough of the appetizers and the drinks were flowing well. My advise, check it out!!!
- Pros: DJ, cool bartenders
- Cons: None
best of both worlds
by drfardook
I've seen a few bands and had dinner at black betty and found it to one of the stronger williamsburg joints in terms of drinks and food. My favorite is their very vegan/vegetarian friendly sunday brunch. The crowd is much lighter, its quiet, and the food and tea is the perfect cure for a hangover. Try a side of hummus with the eggs black betty.
- Pros: vege friendly brunch, strong drinks
very good food

Black Betty is better known as a bar - but the food is great. I love the calamari. Splitting a selection of the appetizers is usually enough food for two, and it's all very tasty and fairly priced.
- Pros: middle eastern food, garden seating, inexpensive

If you're still in college...

Nice spot, but Saturday nights tend to be more of a crazy college student crowd. The music is unique and can best be appreciated with lots of friends and lots of drinks.
- Pros: Cheap drinks, Old school music
- Cons: Crowded, "Young" crowd
My spot
by b_burgsside
BB has been my spot for more than a year. Can't say enough good things about this place.
One of the few easy-going hangouts in NYC or Williamsburgh for that matter where all are welcome and where drinks and smiles come easy!
Affordable, fun! Good music, nice staff!
A bit on the small side, and I'm not much for the food, but...
This place is the reason why 2 weeks can go by w/out me even thinking about crossing the E. River into Manhattan!
- Pros: FUN, CHEAP, FRIENDLY
- Cons: CROWDED
brazilian night
by brooklynlove
Haven't been to a bar that has made me venture out to brooklyn in a long time...especially on a Sunday night. The brazilian night at black betty rocked. Great energy, very sexy and the drinks are made to perfection.
