What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying
Thai food, like that really heated argument over the remote, is a lot more complicated than it seems on the surface. This is especially true at Pok Pok, the new eatery from Portland chef Andy Ricker. Ricker composes nuanced Northern Thai dishes that combine strong flavors without relying too heavily on spice like in Southern Thai cooking. Pok Poks creations have becomes the “dishes of the moment” especially the fish sauce wings and the takes on "salad." The absence of reservations means a line has formed by every 5:30 opening, but Pok Pok is worth every minute of the wait.

Portland thai-food whiz Andy Ricker
brought a big rep with him from out of town, and more than delivered on his promise of big, bold, spicy food that manages to also be balanced and interesting -- something we haven't often seen before.
