The Background – Since 1986, the culture of this formerly nomadic people has found its New York home in a Brooklyn brownstone, accessible to any interested scholars or students. Aside from the library, with its extensive holdings, the museum mounts periodic exhibits of photographs, jewelry, maps and native dress.
