RESPONSE TO 'BE CAREFUL GOING THERE'. As a former employee of Concept Elite Salon who worked with the owner for almost 30 years I was offended when this review was brought to my attention.

Before moving out of state, the last position I held at Concept Elite was as Salon Co-ordinator for the Staten Island location.

Anyone who knows The Owner of Concept Elite knows that the only thing more important to him when it comes to his salons, than customer service is the quality of the work that leaves there. This is not to say that neither he nor his staff members NEVER come across a situation where they have difficulty delivering unusual requests but the fact that this was never brought to anyone's attention when it initially occurred, seems a little "fishy" to me.

Adding to my skeptisism is the fact that the writer's scenario pertaining to the closing of the salon is completely untrue (I can attest to this first hand as I was one of the people not only participating in the decision to close the salon but given the responsibility of notifying clients. Tony personally saw to it that every employee was given ample opportunity to either remain on Staten Island where they were offered positions in various salons simply because of their previous employment with CE, or join the staff at Ave U.) I think it says something that not only did several employees decide to travel to Brooklyn, but so many of their clients also followed! I would also like to add that every gift certificate purchased at the Staten Island Salon was honored, or reimbursed.

These are only some of the policies that resulted in the 35 year old success of CE. Through bad and good economys, bad and good neighborhood changes, bad and good employee situations, Concept Elite continues to grow as a result of one thing and one thing only---- THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF HAPPY CLIENTS.

BURNT RED HAIR?

MESSED UP SISTER'S HAIR?

BETRAYED EMPLOYEES?

UNINFORMED CLIENTS?

I DONT THINK SO---

Come on!!!! It is soooooooooooooooooo obvious there is more to this story! I don't know about anyone else, but as someone who can testify personally to some of the false information stated in this review, I am finding everything about it to be suspicious.

It seems very obvious to me that SIX years later there is an ulterior motive to this story!!!

BE CAREFUL GOING HERE!. I went to the Concept Elite in S.I. and the owner who also owns the place on Avenue U, messed up my hair. I ask him for some red, alburn highlights and he turn my hair fire engine red. It took him three tries to get as close as he could to what I ask for, but still was not what I asked for, and at the end of that very long day he burnt out my hair from all the dying.

It took me close to two year to grow out all of the burnout pieces of hair.

He also destroyed my sister hair as well.

BTW: One day out of the blue he closed the place in S.I. down without a word or warning to the people who work there or to any of the clients who had appointments.

Great Hairstyles at Reasonable Price. Jeff, the stylist who did my hair gave me a fantastic cut and style. He's super talented, professional, and friendly. He teaches the customer how to do various looks at home and often suggests the best style for that particular client. My family has had haircuts there for the last 20 years, and we've always found someone who does a fabulous job.

Unprofessional. Tony, one of the owner needs to take some classes to help him become a professional. My haircut and color with him was a disaster and thats not the worst part. The salon is dirty and this tony really has a bad attitude.Some of the other hairstylists are fine but that Tony needs to go! time for him to retire!

I have gone for years friendlly on time service & highly trained stylists.I have my highlights done by Sandra shes the best. I've had gone other fancy smancy in NY.I will only go back to Concept Elite for my future needs

Joey does best haircuts. Joey cuts my hair and straightens it. He has been the best stylist I ever went to. I have long angles in my hair, and get tons of compliments. whole staff is awesome.

great salon and joey rocks. Joey cuts and straightens my hair. He does the best haircuts. I get tons of compliments. Also, he straightens my hair, it lasts for months. he works w such experience. Also, his assistances are always helpful and nice.

Also got a facial here, highly recommend it!

Great Salon. I have been going to Concept Elite for I think 25 years, sharing a long relationship with the same stylist the entire time. My cut and color is always great, in fact I get compliments all the time on how nice the color looks. Service is always professional and friendly and as an added bonus they offer free deep conditioning with a hair treatment. With my curly hair that is an amazing plus! I also find the prices to be fair, especially compared to equivalent services in Manhattan. I would recommend Concept Elite to anyone looking for a great salon. In fact, I have moved out of Brooklyn but still commute to Concept Elite for my cut and color!!!
