nasty to the bone. We've eaten in this restaurant for years and everytime is definitely an adventure. They have a bunch of immature children working there playing restaurant . There food is good, But definitely not worth the Madison ave prices ( Pizza place wanting to be a high class restaurant) .Boy , The owners have a captured audience and are padding there pockets off of our community. We wouldn't mind if they showed a little concern. When you ask for a bit more sauce or little accomodation they hudle and go to the big cheese and then charge you without telling you. They make people feel uncomfortable . Instead of thanking everyone that walks through there doors ,They act like they are doing you a favor for a 20.00 plate of pasta. We are finally fed up with there ways and are willing to travel or eat home .

P.S. If the owners read this ,CHANGE or your days are numbered. There will one day be a great restaurant that will move in and then it will be to late. LEARN TO BE NICE TO THE HANDS THAT FEEDS YOU.......................

Again the food is good ,But the attitudes wash that feeling away.

Re: Stingy with the red sauce... Lost a customer. I've been a regular customer of La Villa in Park Slope for years and have since ordered well over 50 of their calzones. In particular, their spinach and chicken calzone. My very first order, some years ago, I requested a small container of red marinara sauce to go with my calzone and the guy (owner?) said "sure, no charge." Since then I've asked for the same small container of red sauce with each calzone and it's been gratis. A nice gesture to go along with a very expensive calzone. Today I called in my order for my favorite calzone and the girl on the phone said, "This will be the last time you're getting the sauce for free, from now on you're going to pay for it." Now, think about it: I've bought dozens of their $15.25 calzones over the years, I'm a local regular, and NOW want me to charge me over $2 more for a small container of sauce that must set them back 5 cents. Really screwball way to treat a regular. I told them that I wouldn't order it without the free sauce and the girl at the front desk just didn't care. Well, screw 'em. If they can find a sucker to spend $2+ dollars on an ounce of red sauce, congrats to them. It just won't be me. They lost me as a customer.

HAIRS IN FOOD. i went there to eat a couple weeks ago for dinner with my family. we had to wait 20 minutes for our waiter to come take our drink order then waited another 10 to get them. we decided to order asap bc if it took this long for drinks god knows how long it take for our meal. i order baked zitti and a pie for myself and then my wife ordered penne ala vodka. as i get my food i about to eat it i see a long strain of hair in it. i almost vomited all over the place. the manager had nothing to say bill i'll take it off your bill and wont charge you for it. THIS PLACE IS DIRTY AND RUDE. i would give it 0 stars but thats not an option

La Villa. I like the grandma pizza the most. Especially the private small pies. Tamato sauce is awesome. Excellent service, and occassionally a line. I live near here. Right near a shopping area. By key food. Nice employees.

You can see the basin towards the back of the resturaunt near windows. Free parking. Warning if you double park, your car will be towed. Clean bathrooms. I would give this place 10 stars if I had my choice. It's in a calm serene area beachy like, reminds me of an orea in Florida withoutthe heat, hundidity,a nd palm trees. Nice houses you can see by the waterfront. Bread is delicious along with the pasta specials. It's on the mill basin/bergen beach border, one of the most richest residential area in brooklyn. People are neighborhood friendly. They have takeouts and deliver orders to your home. It could be an hour wait to do other deliveries on bikes.

CAUTION!!! Eat at your own risk!. La Villa, Park Slope, Brooklyn location

My husband and I have been to La Villa in Mill Basin several times...and loved it! Their salad pizza is my ultimate guilt-free favorite thing to eat there.

Anyway...that was in the past.

We noticed they had another location in Park Slope, Brooklyn and decided to go try it out...I was in the mood for pizza, sans the guilt, so I ordered a “small pizza insalata”...mmmmm!

My hubby got a chicken cutlet Parm hero. That was it, no appetizers, no drinks, we drank water.

Our orders arrived; I took the first bite of my pizza and savored it...delish!!!

My next bite could have potentially been my last.

Now in all honesty finding an insect, fly, etc...Any type of insect would have been disgusting and gross...however, it wouldn't have caused physical or bodily harm.

As I began chewing my 2nd bite of insalata pizza, I felt something hard when I bit down. My immediate thought was it had to be an olive pit (since there were black olives in the salad). I was chewing and the food was starting to go down my throat...but at the same time I was trying to get my food back up (sorry to be so gross). I think a feeling of panic and anxiety set in when whatever was in my mouth was going down my throat...I started choking and spitting up my food to get it out!

Still anticipating it to be an olive pit...No!!! I discovered it was a heavy duty staple/metal clamp!!!!!!

I instantly called the waiter and showed him what I almost choked to death on....he said "Oh I will be right back"

We waited about 3-4 mins before he came back and said "I am sorry...we will make you another one!"

I told him “I don't want another one!!!”

“I want to show the manager or owner what I could of died of or had internal bleeding or ruptured my intestines from!!!!”

Again after waiting another 3-4 mins and about to just walk out the door…the "manager" came...seeming very unconcerned or bothered by the fact.

He didn't even say SORRY...just "so what seems to be the problem here...?"

WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM...that's how you approach the situation????

I said "THE PROBLEM IS THAT I COULD OF SWALLOWED THAT METAL CLAMP...STAPLE...THAT WAS IN MY SALAD!!!"

He responds by saying...

"Oh... well, it happens, it must have come from the crate where the lettuce was shipped in...I guess it wasn't washed well, I will take it off the bill and make you a new one to take home"

Two things.

First, I do not want to take your pizza home so that I could god forbid find something else in it, and choke in the comfort of my own home.

Second, I cant believe he said I will take it off the bill...do you think I am paying for anything at this point...or the uneaten hero...my husband was now scared to eat anything from there!

The mere fact that this "manager" was so unsympathetic and didn't even say sorry is disheartening.

I explained to him, that we have been to the other location several times and how delicious their food is...he just responded by shrugging his shoulders saying "Oh well, the salad must not have been washed that good"

Everyone that I have been telling this story to keeps insisting that I have a law suit on my hands.

I don't want their money, I just want to spread the word about their "staple" pizza and if you do decide to go and eat there to proceed with caution and to thoroughly and meticulously inspect every morsel of food before it enters your mouth!

Savor the Flavor and the Experience. I always wanted to believe (growing up in New York) that the best italian is in Little Italy, but La Villa proved me wrong (unless they have a location in Downtown Manhattan). Tucked away in the Key Food Parking Lot, this was my break from a hectic day of shopping by Kings Plaza. Mostly pizza and about a dozen or so enticing entrees- all the options on the menu are great (with generous portions). Bring friends and try a little of everything. Sometimes there's a wait, but it's well worth it. If you don't want to wait, order it to go! Mmmm!

DOES LA VILLA THINK THEY ARE IN THE UPPER EAST SIDE OF NYC?. The food is good but not for the prices they charge. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and paid close to $20 without the tip. Then someone told me about Original Pizza and it was only $9 there. Guess where I've been going?

Way overpriced, over rated food. I recently ordered two sandwiches, a dish of pasta with a meat suace and a 1 liter bottle of soda and asked that the food be delivered. I was outraged when the food arrived and I was handed a bill for $43.00. The food was average and the pasta overcooked. After charging over forty dollars for the food they had the nerve to charge an additional delivery fee. La Villa will never receive my business again.
