Tips for Hole In The Wall Video

DVD and VHS served with conversation and a smile.. Here for almost 20 years, Hole In The Wall Video has it all. It boasts a great selection of DVDs, including foriegn films, criterion films, classics, children's films, video games and t.v. series. It is also one of the few places that has a solid collection of VHS tapes. The good looking 20-something year old staff is always ready for movie related conversation, and won't hesitate to recommend a few good flicks. Rentals are $4.25 for two nights. Have late fees? Be open and honest and they'll cut you a break.

Very friendly local store!. Great staff and location, excellent for when I get off the train on the way home. Cheaper than BB and carries more stuff (especially Japanese horror films).

DVD and video rental, served on wry.. The Scene
Even before entering Hole in the Wall, you know
exactly what kind of place you're in. Movie posters have been cleverly enhanced with cartoon bubbles, your favorite stars murmuring commentary that's somewhere between polemic
and X-rated. Inside, it's the same vibe: Crates
filled with VHS tapes and walls of DVDs evoke the used bookstores of college towns, their items
organized, but barely. This is a store with an
unplanned floor plan and a sorting system that has gradually evolved--though not fully. Service isn't surly, but it's definitely of the grunt-and-point variety.

The Goods
Everything you want to rent is here. And there's
stuff for the kids, too. Prices are average for the area, but special deals abound: On Mondays, take a shot at the Trivia Mayhem question. A correct answer gets you a free additional rental. Or check the Daily Specials (random films that change week to week) and get a two-for-one. There's also a corner called Cinema Junkyard that lets you and the kids rent anything you can find for a buck.
