“Ever since Osaka came on the scene, all we have to do is walk 5 minutes for the best sushi around.”
Ethically Distasteful. So long as bluefin tuna is on the menu, I won't be going here, and I urge you not to go, either. The bluefin is a marvelous creature, and on the verge of extinction. It's immoral to serve it.
best sushi in bklyn. i love osaka evrything is good, prompt, and high quality. my favorite place to get sushi. i just wish theyd open before 5pm,
bargain basement pricing!.
Small busy place with fantastic value sushi. Biggest pieces in the city. There may be places with more creative
dishes but if you are looking for quantity you can't beat Osaka. One piece of sushi easily would easily make 2 pieces at most other restaurants. On top of it the fish is always fresh and the service friendly. The small restaurant probably tried to decorate in a hip modern way when they first opened but it could probably use a little update at this time. Still the service is great and the food excellent. We do takeout a lot.
Best sushi in Brooklyn. This is my favorite place to get sushi in Brooklyn. I think it's better than Blue ribbon sushi in terms of quality of fish for the price. The decor is not much to speak of and it's too bright, but the rolls are fantastic and the raw fish is beautiful You get big gorgeous slices for what you would pay at any sushi restaurant and it is always top quality. I don't recommend the cooked food. I think it's mediocre, but when I want sushi, which is quite often I will go to Osaka every time!
Reliable, inventive sushi.
I'm not usually a fan of novelty monster rolls, but Osaka does them well. The sushi is reliably good (if rarely mind-blowing), and the restaurant is comfortable (especially if it's warm enough to sit on the deck). Service is usually friendly, though often on the slow side, though not excessively so.
It's a nice place to get a late meal in the neighborhood, after a movie at Cobble Hill Cinemas.
Not authentic but OK Japanese. There is no Japanese at this restaurant, so don't expect authentic Japanese cuisine. The food is OK as "Asian cuisine" and people are nice too.
Fabulous in every way. First, I live by this place and it's easy to get a seat. Second, they have Sapporo (i can't imagine why some japanese restaurants don't). Third, the cocktails are fantastic. Fourth, service is friendly. Fifth, it's not expensive. Sixth, the sushi! I love the sushi and while I admit you can get bettter, the menu is inventive and the food always fresh. I go at least once per week. See you there!
Best Sushi Anywhere. Osaka is hands-down the best sushi in Brooklyn- or Manhattan. Excellent, fresh, creative rolls (try the viagra roll). Lovely outdoor seating, friendly staff, interesting Japanese entrees. Go early on weekends, as there can be a tiny bit of a wait.
Average.
I found the service to be very good. We ordered a great deal of food for a party of four people, and had to pack a substantial amount of it to take home. The hostess came over and asked if everything was ok. The busboy kept our glasses full; the waiter warmed up to our table at the end of the night by cracking jokes. We enjoyed the ambience (garden was great).
The food was average at best. The miso broth was flavorful but I didn't like that they used baby bella mushrooms instead of asian mushrooms. The salad dressing was pretty bland (I don't think there was ginger in it).
The sushi pieces were large but didn't have too much flavor to them. The Elvis roll and Mike roll were good for the cost.
My FAVORITE sushi restaurant in NYC!. I love this place... I live in the city and travel all the way to Brooklyn on a regular basis just to eat here. The food is just... amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
