amazing pizza even by NY standards!. i give this place 4 stars becuase im a new yorker and its hard to impress me when it comes to pizza.... but low and behold this place blew my socks off. great dough , fresh cheese vibrant ingredients!
Great selection!. I have lived in the neighborhood for a few years. I have pizza from each place within 4 miles and this place offers the best selection and best tasting slice in Brooklyn. Oh yeah, by the way, this is the real "Knapp street pizza" there are a few different places with the same name, but this is the real deal!
a pizzeria; nothing more, nothing less.. ambience is pretty standard fare for a ny pizza establishment. pizza was good dough was pretty fresh, the place was cool, check it out with your friends.
Unpleasant. This place has been around for quite a few years, but I don't even bother going there anymore, got tired of the owner with his miserable expression and nasty attitude, was a roach on the wall near our table while we were eating. The pizza is nothing special. Don't waste your time
Best Pizza in Brooklyn. I've lived in brooklyn my whole life I tried Pizza places from Canarsie and Bay Ridge to Williamsburg and manhattan. Knapp St Pizza is the best by far. the sauce is what really does it but they also bake the dough perfectly it's crispy but not hard, it's perfect. I remember when it was a just a pizza place. they really turned it into a cute resturant (great for a cheap date) they have a bunch of italian dishes (never had them so I couldn't tell you) on top of the normal Pizza shop stuff. This is a really great place and you sould check it out for yourself.
Friday night unwind....... As a lifelong resident of Gerritsen Beach I've been going to , and more often, ordering from Knapp St. Pizza for many years. My wife and I have recently begun a summer ritual of taking one night of the week, bringing a favorite bottle of wine( and our own wine glasses), and enjoying their wonderful food in the relaxing atmosphere of their outdoor seating. We'll usually order a small salad, an appetizer( fried calamari, or baked clams) and a Hot Hero Sandwich( Eggplant or Chicken Parm) and split everthing. The food is always prepared fresh and they bring everything right to the table. The food and tip usually average between $20 and $30, much less than most restaurants. We make a point of walking there and back, a considerable distance as we live just one block from the tip of the peninsula, which makes for safe travel and good exercise. We strongly recommend to anyone!
If you need your bowels cleaned out...... eat at this joint, trust me...anytime i ever ate here i spent the next morning on the bowel in agony, or if i didn't use the toilet at home i would have to find a Starbucks or McDonalds on the way to work to use the restroom....would not recommend for AnyOne with stomach problems... i will not be returning
Bait and Switch.
It's not as if they don't have a great selection of pizzas, but when you try to order one-forget it. I ordered this fantastic pie with plenty of mozzarella and fresh tomatos, oil and a touch of garlic. It wasn't fresh mozzarella, like a Margheritte pie, but so what.
I watched this guy making my pie with fistfulls of cheese and plenty of oil and spices. Wow, I couldn't wait. For some reason, though, after he through the pie in the oven I couldn't keep track of it. It was shoved to the side and then back. So many different pies I wondered if it was me or what.
It seemed like I waited extra long-but they did make it fresh, right . Then a pie comes out from the back kitchen and they throw it in the box in front of me. This thing didn't look anything like what I had ordered. Where did all the cheese go? The pie was barely "flavored" with cheese. Mostly it was just sauce and crust with some fresh tomato slices on top. The pie I saw him make had grated Romano under it all. This pie had no nothin. It was a disgrace and tasted worse. If I had made a pie on my own it would have been light-years ahead of this thing. Annndddddd-they wanted $18.50. I'll never waste my dough there again! Loosers.
Lactose Intolerant? Try This Place!!!. Being lactose intolerant, I never thought that I would be able to experience the taste of pizza. But low and behold, I found a place, a pizza place, that actually caters to the lactose challenged. Knapp Street Pizza In Brooklyn NY has THE BEST veggie pizza. Its a sicilian slice made with freshly grilled veggies which lie on top of a sumptous tomato sauce. The breading is so thick and once you polish off one, its quite filling. Knapp Street Pizza also has a variety of pizzas including: eggplant, ziti, chicken parmigiana and so on. So come on by for the best pizza experience of your life!!!!
