At Home Feeling. I love Buckley's. My husband and I have attended many special occasions here and we have not been disappointed! The food is delicious, service is good, reasonable prices, and it has a wonderful atmosphere!

The person who organizes and runs all of the special events does a wonderful job! She is always friendly and professional and NEVER disappoints. All events; weddings, showers, christenings, & engagement parties have always turned out beautiful!

So So Service and Quality has gotten worse.. We've been going to this long standing neighborhood joint for years. Always decent food at good prices. Sometimes you have to wait a bit as it is busy a lot of times. Some great servers and some sluggish servers are, I guess, the norm.

The last visit was by far the worst of all time for me. Two out of three entree's were severely overcooked. The drinks were empty and the server never came back into the dining room after delivering the entrees. The guest with the perfectly cooked dinner cleaned her plate while the other guest barely touched hers. I didnt touch my dinner at all, it was that bad.

It took almost 20 minutes before a busboy happened to pass by and we asked him to find our waiter. (no one else was in the room for this entire period). The server came in, finally, and asked if we wanted the manager.

The manager was gracious enough to offer a replacement entree, but the point was moot. The other two guests were already done with their dinner and I felt the time had long passed to be offering me a fresh dinner. I felt that the manager could have been a bit more concerned about making things right, however, this was not the case.

Overcooked food happens. That mistake can be easily corrected. Of course, if the server does not check on a table after dropping off the entrees, again, its a moot point. Theres no chance to correct a problem, or perhaps refresh the empty beverages, etc. So make that two mistakes. Then, lastly, the absense of a genuine gesture from the managament looks a lot to me like strike three. (all in one night, pretty bad.)

This establishment has a long tried and true following, including myself. More and more I hear stories such as my own, and I wonder just how much longer this neighborhood icon can remain viable if they refuse to take a good hard look at some of the regular shortcomings that are becoming a bit too regular. Wake up guys, and return the restaurant to its past glory as a great place to eat really good food, and great service.... all at reasonable prices.

Nothing Special. I've been dragged to this restaurant several times through the years and not once have I been completely satisfied. They bring a big loaf of bread out and you're expected to cut it yourself - would it kill them to actually do his in the kitchen and serve it in a bread basket. I ordered the roast beef with rice pilaf and broccoli. The beef was cut so thinly that I thought it might be from the deli and the broccoli was just two very small florets mounted on two very long, tough stems.

The service, on this occasion, was ok and business-like. This place has been around too long.

Ok and Has the Potential to be Much Better. This is a meat and potatoes restaurant. They are one of the few family restaurants in this area of Brooklyn. For this reason, I think they have become lazy. They have a very good business. It has been crowded every time I have gone there. The problem is that they do not try very hard. Some may work hard but not smart...

there are a lot of inconsistencies... sometimes, the food is excellent, sometimes it is mediocre, sometimes the service is awful, sometimes it is great. It is like a guess how long you might wait for food.

I would like to see the owners and managers just push for a better experience... be more creative, provide consistent quality food and service. You can go from ok to great in a few steps!!!!

Great Neighborhood Staple. My family has been going to Buckley's for about 20 years now. It's very much a local/neighborhood spot that can always be counted on for a good, well-priced brunch, and filling dinner. If you are looking for frills, this is not your place. If you're looking for a casual meal, definitely a good choice.

Ughh!. Where do I start? I have been to this resturant many times, but after my dinner experience on Friday night, I will not be returning. My family and I (4 people) had reservations for 6pm on a Wednesday. We specifically said "BY THE FIREPLACE". Unfortuantly, we did not get anywhere near there when seated. The server gave our table away and than stuck us in the corner of the resturant. We waited 10 minutes to get simples glasses of water and then we ordered, and it took 45 minutes to make clams and scallops. When the food came, it was cold and terrible. The scallops were just bad, but the clams were awfully terrible. When our entrees came out, I was extremely displeased. I ordered the broiled chicken and they didn't even give me a knife! My mother's baked potato was ice cold and when she sent it back, they popped it in the microwave for 10 seconds and pulled it out. My chicken was bloody and chewy, and my corn was too sweet. The only delicous item was their french fires, but then again, how hard is it to make some fries? The bill was way too expensive and when I got home, one of my family members got sick from the food. SKIP IT!

Down South Eats. My husband walked into Buckley's to register him and I for the annual Buckley-Kennedy Run a couple of days ago and was so upset by the treatment he received. Apparently the three staff members behind the bar were too busy watching T.V. to even acknowledge his presence. After standing around for over ten minutes another staff member walked out from the back and assisted, when my husband asked how to register for the run he was pointed in the direction of original three behind the bar that finally offered him a, "Come back tomorrow".

How disappointing that in Brooklyn, in 2008 that such racism can still be found.

I think we'll skip the food in this joint.

nothing special and very expensive. This place isn't horrible but it's nothing spectacular either. There aren't too many resturaunts in Marine Park so I understand why this place gets business. But I find that for the very high prices you're paying, the service is just so-so and expect to wait 30 minutes during busy times - even with a reservation. The food is just okay and the portions are small. I love steak and I would say theirs is average. Two people eating a dinner with appetizers and a drink or two each are looking at over $100 for their meal, and it's just not worth that kind of money.

Hooray for Meat. A real neighborhood place. Buckley's has great steaks and burgers and their fries are to die for!!! Plus they do so much for the community including the Buckley's to Kennedy's run every springl If you're down in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn stop in for a beer and a burger. You'll be glad you did!!!
