Brennan and Carrs. It would be just as rare as seeing a lion in the street escaping from a zoo as rare as it is to see no waiting line ever here, even on Holidays and weekends. The 70's style is awesome. I love their mozzerella sticks, teh cheese just melts in your mouth. Roast beef is juicy and awesome and old fashioned style cooked. Great regular american cooked meals are made here from scratch. They also have delicious beer do to it being slightly overpriced. I come here often. Incase it's crowded theres a back room. The teas are awesome too.

Classic Brooklyn meatery serves Truman-era roast beef sandwiches to locals.. Brennan and Carr doesn't think of itself as a landmark restaurant. No one writes nostalgic eulogies about the place. It's basically a dive, a weatherbeaten Gravesend sandwich joint that happens to serve some truly wonderful sandwiches. Ignore everything on the menu that doesn't say "roast beef sandwich" and make sure that you dip the sandwich, of the thinnest possible hot roast beef, into the little cup of jus that comes with it. And if it gets soggy after a few minutes, that's OK too.

another place that lives on it's name..stay away from. I don't care for roast beef so i can't help you with that. the burgers were blah, the chicken nuggets are rubbery, the fries are soggy. The place looks like it is still stuck in the 1970's. The wait staff was friendly and the cashier was nice. I wouldn't go back to this place. Other's swear by it. I guess you love it or hate.

Good Roast Beef, but that's about it.. I wasn't expecting too much going to Brennan & Carr's, based on info from friends and relatives plus other reviews. I was told that it was no frills, not great atmosphere but that the food was pretty good, and great roast beef sandwich. My wife and I after moving to the neighborhood recently decided to try it out. Without trying to be mean, the resturaunt is basically like a concession stand with waiter service. In fact when you walk in there's a large takeout area along with the modest seating room. Pretty much everything is a la carte, they have roast beef, burgers, dogs, grilled chicken, wings, fries, onion rings, beef broth which I guess is soup, some desserts. Literally that is close to the entire menu. I was hoping for a nice plate of roast beef with some mashed potatos and veggies...no mashed...no veggies here though. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and my wife ordered chicken tenders. I don't like to eat too much fried stuff so we ordered fries to share. The roast beef sandwich was good, my wife said the tenders were OK, the very small fry portion that game out was greasy and soggy. I was still hungry and tried a (small) hamburger too, normally my favorite food, but it was tasteless. So I left pretty disappointed, and it wasn't cheap for the small portions of food that were served, $23 before tip. The wait staff was fine and pleasant. But if I go back it will probably be for takeout and just if I get in the mood for a roast beef sandwich.

Nostalgic and quaint!. I travel with friends several times a month from Manhasset just to savor thir roast beef and gravy. There are no frills, however everthing is fresh and tasty and reminds you of days of yore.
