“It's true that the ball returns are slow, the computers need to be updated and the snack bar help can be rude, but the people who wake up in the morning to work at that place make a difference.”

The people are rude!!!!. They think they are doing you a favor to have you play there for $6 a game. GO THERE if you are in a mood to pick a fight with somebody!!!!!!!!! They think they are the ONLY bowling alley in brooklyn
RUDE RUDE RUDE. Last night I went on a date to SHELL LANES near McDonald Ave and Ave X and it was a nightmare!!! To begin the fat , overly tanned, 50+ year old, wanna be Sopranos character, who works behind the counter was very slow and it took me 15 minutes of waiting while he talked to other people to get my change. After I politely requested to have my lane changed because the players next to me were extremely rowdy the guy replied : " we never change lanes when customers ask to have their lane changed", thanks to that jerk I could barely talk to my date with all the noise around us and she constantly complained about the noise which made the date HELL !! In the middle of the game we were interrupted by another Rude and unreasonable employee who for no apparent reason was going around taking away all the lighter balls because he said they were for children, my date is 5'5'' and 115 lbs. and could not use the heavy balls !!! Even the guy in the lane next to me was complaining because he was having back pains and wanted to use the lighter ball. To top it all off when i was coming back to return the shoes the fat grumpy Sopranos character made me walk to two different counters to return the shoes when he could have just taken both from me since he was the only one behind the counter and both pairs were within one foot step of each other for him. THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS PLACE TREAT YOU LIKE THEY ARE DOING YOU A FAVOR, AS IF YOU'RE NOT PAYING $7 PER GAME TO BOWL IN THEIR CRAPPY BOWLING ALLEY!!!!...I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS !!!!…
Editorial Review by Marcella Venzeiale. Bowl by the glow of black lights at this classic alley that has amenities like a snack bar and shoe rental.
Rude. I have been going to shell lanes for years and I can say that service as well as morale has definitely gone down. If you want your children to be harrashed by league members and be kicked out of their guests seat, feel free to take your kids there. My child was sitting on the guest chairs when 3 league male adults approached him and told him that he HAD to move out his seat or else they would call the cops on him. Those 3 male adults were not only not nice but disrespectful towards my child. I would never take my kids there again.…
User review by nycsunlight. Ive been a league bowler there for over 15 yrs on the Sunday Night Classic. It upset me when i was informed the Founder/Secretary did not return for the 2005/06 season. The league will never be the same. Im sorry for management not doing more in have this gentleman come back or offer more for him or his league more services. I know the league is a mixed league and has gotten bad raps from other bowlers for not paying out for the top teams, but in my 15 years bowling, i was given the chance to bowl on my first league by the founder( i had only a 120 avg, now im averaging 180) His league was the only league which treated all bowlers fairly, and not catered to the HOT SHOTS.…
