That it's a lone Irish holdout in Greenpoint is distinguishing enough, but Palace Cafe is still probably better known as a metal bar. Zeppelin blasts from the jukebox, and the brothers tending bar have Ozzie-like haircuts styled for optimum headbanging. Franzia boxed wine festooned with plastic American flags steers patrons instead toward the free-flowing Killian's Red. Hey internet, check this place out. Honestly, if you need to wind down in a neighborhood place with a hard-rocking jukebox, a great local crowd, and long haired family bartenders who know just what you need (baby), come on over to Goodman's. I do not work there. I just wish i did. PS- I DARE you to beat Maryland in the single player Photo-Hunt. If you do, please post here so that Maryland can beat you back. Peace.
- Pros: $1.50 beers, welcoming staff, great jukebox
- Cons: leaky air conditioner outside
