The influx of young people has caused one great thing for Greenpoint: only the good Polish places have survived. And Krolewskie Jadlo is one of the better ones. Don't be intimidated by the suits of armor or hulking wooden doors outside as inside you'll find the hearty fare Eastern Europe is known for from white borscht soup to comforting homemade pierogies to an overwhelming plate of beef goulash. I recommend going with friends, especially if you have your eye on a Koryto plate (it only involves two different sausages, bacon, pierogies, hunter stew and grilled meats.)

Terrific Polish food. Very good Polish place, I certainly tried things I'd never tasted like pheasant and wild boar. I liked the bread, pate, pickle dish spread you get when you walk into the restaurant. I ordered the beef strogranow in a bread bowl and it was very yummy. The dishes come served with mashed potatoes and purple cabbage salad. My only remark for improvement would be to serve the food a little faster, my dish was warm, not hot like I would have liked. Also, I had to keep asking for water, I know it was harder to be attentive because it was pretty crowded for a Thursday night, but I really need water for my salty food.

Big Delicious and Cheap.
I got a 3 coarse meal with multiple sides and a beer for $9!
and the food was great!
Read that again.
First I got bread with pickles and a pate like spread. Then a delicious red soup, then a huge plate of goulash with a side of potatoes, and a carat and cucumber salad. Then I got a slice of pie. I also took advantage of a free beer with your order.
My bill came and it was $9.80 after tax!
The food was very good and I would expect to pay at least double.
I was very pleasantly surprised to find this place. If you read this and are in the area fore sure go there!!!

best polish food in greenpoint and williamsburg. this was our second time going here and i think the food just keeps getting better. we've been to several other polish restaurants in this area and nothing has come close to the food here. the soups were superb and only $2 a bowl, and the entire dinner, with beers, cost less than $30 for two people. the service was great and attentive, without rushing us. i think the waitstaff recognize returning customers and really treat them well with smiles. i can't say enough good things about this place. it was great to see a mix of poles and hipsters and i really can't wait to go back and try more dishes.
