Glad I took the Bus. I am so glad that I took the bus the other day, because I met a woman and really admired her hair color. After talking with her, she told me she had it done at a salon called Salon Gio, which wasn't too far from my apartment. She referred me to Susan, who is their master colorist. When I got there, she gave me a consultation and I felt very comfortable with her approach and explanation of color in how she would create the result I was looking for. Once she was done, she felt that I should get a blow out, even though I wasn't scheduled for one, she referred me to Alex, who was not only a sweetheart, did an excellent job. I was able to see my hair finished and felt great. Both Susan and Alex are great, are really professional and provide a great service. You will be very satisfied in going to Salon Gio just as I did.

I WISH I COULD KEEP HER A SECRET. I received some spa gift certificates for my birthday. Due to surgery I was not able to use them until now. Because they run out soon, I have had to go to many of them in the past month so I feel that I can very fairly compare the massage therapists at the various salons. By far, Mary Lou is the GREATEST! From her warm up (no other place in the neighborhood does that) to the warm, oiled stones on the face, she makes you feel like you are truly in heaven. When I tried to book for next week - no go- she's filled up already! Guess that's what happens when you are THAT GOOD. CONGRATS to SALON GIO for employing a truly gifted massage therapist! Merry Christmas and God's blessings to all the wonderful, welcoming, energetic staff at Salon Gio

Don't be fooled by the physical beauty of the salon!. I went to Salon Gio for many years. I liked them so much they did my hair and makeup for my son's wedding. Susan is a wonderful hair colorist and I must say very professional. She also stands behind her work. However I had 3 keratin treatments and did not have the same results. Crystal did my treatment the first time and it took beautifully. The second time I did not have the same results. Members of the salon agreed that I should ask her to touch it up. She did. The third time, $250 later, the treatment did not take. I called Crystal and told her about it. She told me that it wasn't her fault if i sweat, and that she will not consider fixing it. She was quite nasty. When I spoke with the owner, Thomas, he was very pleasant however, by no means made any effort to repair and satisfy me as a valuable customer. Actually he told me I continue using the salon, but there wasn't anything he could do. Interesting, i visited another spa in the neighborhood who did the treatment and I had excellent results. Bottom line they do not stand by their work. I was a very pleasant and low key client who enjoyed visiting the salon, but I would by no means refer anyone to them. Lesson learned there were two approaches to a customer. Crystal who was right out rude but I at least knew where she was coming from. However Thomas was very pleasant but the message was the same.

Here at Salon Gio we hold every client with high regard. Each customer is important to us and our staff is trained to satisfy and accommodate their needs. Unfortunately, in this case, this client was advised of the product Manufacturer?s ?do?s and don?ts? for Brazilian Keratin Treatment management as the rest of the procedure doesn?t end when you walk out the salon?s door. The client is strictly instructed NOT to get they?re hair wet for 3 days which includes sweating. All activity that induces such conditions must be avoided. The client sadly disregarded this which significantly shortened the life of the treatment. We informed the client that we would be happy to re-do the treatment for a cost. (We repeated the treatment FREE of charge after the first complaint) She was not receptive to this agreement and thus produced this grievance.

Best hair salon!. I have been seeing Thomas at Salon Gio for about 8 years now and would not see any one else. I've tried other salons in the Brooklyn area and have always been disappointed. I had my hair done for my engagement party and got plenty of compliments. I also slept in Brooklyn the night before my wedding (I lived in NJ at the time) so that I can have my hair done at the salon and it came out beautiful! Thomas did what he had to do to make me look amazing! They all have a great eye for what do looks best on you and you surley will not be disappointed!

Disappointment. Sadly the service has been declining for a long while. I hung in there out of loyalty and convenience but this last haircut was really bad and the attiude that accompanied it was not appreciated. Simply put, they don't value their customers.

Was a long time customer...no longer. I am taking my business elsewhere.

THE BEST I cannot believe the bad things people are saying. THE BEST

I cannot believe the bad things people are saying about Salon Gio. If you have never been there before give it a chance you won't regret it. The staff is very friendly and aim to please. You will love both the busy energy of the salon and the tranquility that the spa upstairs offers. As far as whoever wrote that they've been going for five years and never liked it. Who in their right mind spends their money for services they dont like for five years?

I disagree!. I totally disagree with any of these reviews,,,,You can't believe everything you read or hear, I believe only hateful jealous people would write such a thing,,,,,I've known them for 10 years , they couldn't be more friendlier, eager to please people. They're honest and don't perform services just to make money!

Don't get your hair blown out here!. Unless you can handle the smell of burning hair, a red scalp, and painful burns, don't get your hair blown out here! I have been a loyal customer for 5years and have spent thousands of dollars getting my hair cut and colored by the Master Colorist and Master Stylist - and they do a fantastic job, every time. However, when it comes time for a blowout by one of the other stylists, it's sloppy, rushed, ROUGH, painful and careless. I have had my hair blown out by all of them, hoping to find one who actually wants to do it right, and each time is the same result. They could care less about blowing my hair out if they aren't the one cutting it - they even complained and groaned about how long my hair is - TOO BAD! I will continue to get my hair done here, but I will walk out of there with a soaking wet head every time rather than have one of those girls touch my hair.

High end salon prices - supercuts quality. I don't know what happened to this salon. My initial visit was wonderful - friendly service and a beautiful haircut. That was way back when they had a smaller location on 11th avenue. Subsequent visits have proven to decline a little more each time, down to the point where I actually hate the cut. It seems the stylists can't embrace the concept of "EVENLY distributed layers". Instead they always seem to opt for that lovely helmet-hair mullet-y look that looks good on NO ONE. It used to be a great place, I just think that the stylists need to brush up on their skills. No matter, I'm done with that place.

Over rated. Reviews can't be trusted as many are written by the salon, family and friends.

That said, I've gone to other salons based on rave reviews only to be disappointed by the usual. Salon Gio is no different. It's fine. No better or worse than anywhere else. The spa is over rated.
