Deplorable Service. Tenzan in Brooklyn used to be a great little sushi place when it first opened a few years ago. The owner was always present and (though the place always lacked any ambiance) sushi was always fresh and tasty, and the service excellent. The success of the place allowed the owner to open another (primary) location in NYC, which he now manages. The decline of the Bensonhurst location began at that point. The service has become deplorable, and the staff is both rude and crude. There are plenty of other Japanese restaurant options out there to to choose from, do yourself a favor and stay away from this one.

Unbelievable service.. I've been to Tenzan a few times, and every time was a good experience, until today. My friend had made a reservation for a room 2 weeks prior to today for a birthday celebration. We walked in today and asked for the room. One of the employees said they did not have my friend's number on record. So they situated us in a random table. We were talking (cordially) to the waitress that we had made a reservation and we should be able to get a room and two of the waitresses got defensive and told us that they always have receipts of reservations and they are sure they do not have our reservation (with a attitude might I add). They kept giving us nasty looks too, talk about rude. Then after 10-20 minutes we finally got our table after they admitted they made a mistake and not even apologizing, just simply stating it was their fault. And even after we got our room, we were rushed through out dinner so quick, it was like a race. The service was so bad, even the good food couldn't have made up for it. If we wanted fast service, we would've just went to McD's, which is exactly what we did afterwards.

Great sushi @ great price...little treasure in Brooklyn. My friends and I have been coming to this place many times in the past and each time we had a great time there. The sushi is consistly fresh and tasty. Sushi is meant to be fresh and an ediable art. They accomplished both. They even have traditional pirvate rooms for small group of party of 10. Now that's the way to enjoy sushi. For 4 people we spent like $100 and we always come out with a full belly. You can't beat this price for what they serves you b/c they are just good.

I think the service is good we get what we asked for all the time.

Good sushi for the price. This is a great place to go in besonhurst for some sushi. The prices are great and so is the food. Kinda small but usualy not to busy. Staff are sometimes too friendly but quick service. Check it out if you are in the "Hurst"

Impressive. My bf and I discovered this place by accident (Brooklyn location) & I'm glad we did. The sushi & sashimi is extremely fresh at an affordable price. The portion size is good for Japanese cuisine standard. I recommend the spicy mixed sashima appetizer. The waitresses are extremely attentive and friendly.

HUGE rolls @ UWS location!. This is probably the freshest sushi on the UWS! The rolls and sushi pieces are absolutely huge. The "double taste" special roll is expensive but it was very good. The best deal, in my opinion, are the Sushi combinations. As for the non-sushi dishes, I tried the salmon teriyaki and it was definitely below average and overpriced (but at least it was a large portion). Stick with the sushi and you won't be disappointed!

The restaurant itself is impressive although small. The only thing that gets annoying is the noise level upstairs when its crowded...I felt like I had to scream. Once a couple tables left though it was fine.

Good food, Nice place. Get a window seat!. I'm a Sushi fan when the mood strikes me, but my girlfriend enjoys it whenever she can. We had a nice dinner at Ten Zan. We shared a dinner and enjoyed the evening. Staff was extraordinarily attentive and pleasant. A seat upstairs by the window gives a nice look down on Columbus.
